This sentence is very interesting to me. Does this mean, if I put the HomeBrew Channel on the wii and install the backup loader, I will be able to play backups without a modchip? What do you mean by "you do not 100% need a chip"?

you will find the dvd drive ic number on top of it, it is a square black chip the numbers will be visible if you tilt the drive to one side. if you need them

Ok first off you all need to learn what the search feature is. Also yes on 3.4 you can get HBC and run the backup loader. Also to the post higher up, I mean you can use the backup loader in HBC instead of a modchip. For now on people please use the search feature of this forum.

thanks a lot for clearing this up ,i have backup loader 0.3v and i will try to make it works but first i want to get all the information and instruction so i wont screw up so i feel ready and will do it .

wiiwouldliketohack way to go. youre pretty much the only one on this forum that explains things well to the average person. and yes the search button is key to any forum. i think the FAQs are a little disorganized and there is a lot of mishelp going around. peopel dont know if they need a modchip or not, if they need homebrew channel or not. People dont know the difference between VC and emulators even. if there would be one good FAQ with these simple questions answered i think it would save certain individuals a lot of time. if u want to run old snes games use homebrew channel. if u want to run backups only get a modchip. if u want to do both, get both. is it really any harder than that? and no matter what you do buy an SD card. its 2008 people, get with the program (no pun intended.)

It's also possible now with the channel backuploader(homebrew) to lod backups/downloaded games without modchip. So the wii is hacked totally now

I have just recently gotten the homebrew channel, and everything that will allow me to do cheat codes for mario kart wii. I can use all the codes except the infinate item code. Can you help me use this code?
