Hi Readers,
I would like to recommend the people from GMODZ (Welcome to Gmodz.ca). I bought my modchip from another supplier located in the UK and I have been asking for help but without any reply. Today I can across GMODZ’s MSN address and added them. Within 25 min’s the person on MSN had helped me solve all my problems with my Wasabi V3 wii-clip. I am extremely great full to GMODZ and will in future buy my friends mod chips from them. They helped me solve someone else’s problem which I could not solve from reading all the forums . The problem was in fact that the supplier of my wii modchip had made some assumptions about my wii and had configured it for another version. They provided no documentation and no help. Thanks to GMODZ (Welcome to Gmodz.ca) I’m working fine and am now a loyal customer of theirs alone.

so we're still forced to use sd-cards (wich i dont have)? cant any of the homebrews mimic the vc-system to download directly to wii?

Everywhere I have been said you NEED a Mod to install and play ROM's on Homebrew...so that is incorrect?

You do not need a Mod chip to play Emulated game, but you do need the Homebrew channel to load and played Emulators/roms

Ok to play .roms and use emus you need to get Homebrew/ The Homebrew channel which is normally obtained through the Zelda Twilight hack process. Within in channel you can download EMUS and other apps. through the homebrew browser or from your computer then onto your SD card. Also at the moment you do not 100% need a modchip to play backup or brunt games thanks to Wiigators backup loader and Wakinkos Beta Backuploader apps. You must download the files then put them on your SD card , upload them on your Wii and burn a game. I am NOT posting a direct link to either of the backup loaders. EMUS that are currently avalible are the Wii64 which runs at maybe half speed, SNES emu, Virtual Boy Advance, Gameboy color, Sega Genesis, and a PSX emu. To play game on your emulators you must download .roms off of websites then put them in the .rom folder within each emu. Within Homebrew there is also an app. called .wad installer. You can use this to download .wads off of torrents and other sites. Then put then in the .wad file in the WAD file on the root of your SD card. Go to the .wad installer then upload the .wad and BAM you have yourself a virtual console or Wiiware title for free. Me myself I don't really use the .wads because they eat up your Wii's mem. , when you could just use .roms which are like nothing on the SD card. I hope this can answer some questions that people have.

So, Jbloggs, is it possible to play *any* game ROM from NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis and all that on Wii's Virtual Console even if those games aren't available on the shopping channel? Like can you download the ROMs off of the Internet and somehow get them to play on the Wii as if you had gotten them from the shopping channel?

I would love to be able to do this because the only thing I don't like about the Wii's Virtual Console is that it doesn't have every single game that it could have. For example, it has NES's Mega Man 1 and 2, but not 3 or 4 or 5 or 6, and it has Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 3 but not Sonic 2. There are other examples of great games that Wii's Virtual Console is missing, but those are the first ones I remember noticing when I was looking at the list of available Virtual Console games and was disappointed that not all the games were there.

Any rom you can get online, you can play in an EMU
