the face plate might be off a little or the chip is causing the drive to sit on a angle.the latter happend to me ( my fix it was to reposition the chip) not sure if this is poss. with urs cause ive never worked with the clip. try loosening some or all of the screws a little(four all together) holding the drive down so that its sits pretty much level (this post is for sinbishop94)

Ca d2pro solderless chip

So I had the same, or similar, problem. I put in wii sports, played for a bit then it froze and gave me some error message (i have a japanese wii so no idea what it said). Then it wouldnt eject my disc, no matter how much i restarted and pushed eject. I did this maybe 10-20 times.

I decided to take apart my wii to see if i could manually eject it somehow. The problem for me was the modchip itself... What happened was the little sticker your supposed to put on your chip came off and was floating around completely useless. As soon as i put it back on my disc ejected fine.

Someone may have this same problem.... chances are not many people will have this problem but this solution worked for me. Maybe it will help someone else out in the future because i didnt find an answer like this anywhere...

Now i put my wii flat instead of sideways, that way the sticker shouldnt wander too far if it falls off again.

Remove the clip, check under clip to see if any pins are bent and make sure and reseat it properly and stick it down with some electrical tape and a few tissue paper to ensure that the clip stays in place when assembling it back (according to what spyman said)
