wii backups?

do you need a speical drive to burn wii games? every time i burn one it says error can not read disc on the wii.
do you need a speical drive to burn wii games? every time i burn one it says error can not read disc on the wii. and i have the wii modded and can play backups but my freind has a backup and i want the game can i just copy it using sonic or use imgburn to mak and iso of the dvd and use imgburn to burn it on to a dvd>?

I reserach a bit on that subject and it seem that any burner is able to burn successfully Wii games. But in order to get a working burned Wii games, you need a specific LG DVD reader and a software to decode the Wii game disc. Also, you'll need a modchip in your Wii in order to play it after it's burned. Simply do a research on the web on how to copy a Wii game, you'll see how it's done. I found a site were there's a tutorial, see my source.

if you're getting that error with a burned game on your wii then chances are you burned it too fast. reduce burn speed to 2.4x and that should fix the problem.
