the wii...cause its the cheapest and is the only console which can be modded which saves u even further money. the 360 has good graphics but it comes with the red lights of doom. the ps3 has almost the same graphics as the 360 but its much more expnsive.the only problem is that its graphics arent as good as its competetors and the wi-fi connection keeps lagging.
Right now its one of the most innovative, but I reckon it's follow up, whenever that arrives, 3/4 years from now, that will be the greatest console, or at least have the potential.
As now, the Wii has the performance of the last gen of machines, the next console should keep up with the graphical grunt of the current "next gen" of the 360 and PS3, combining this with a Wiimote style interface, hopefully including another analog stick on the Wiimote itself, now there's a machine worth waiting for.
Til then the combined gaming choices afforded to me by my PS2, 360, DS and Wii seem more than adequate, there really never has been a better time to be a gamer!
As for the best console ever, has to be a coin toss between the PS2, which has so many great games its freaky, and the N64, which broke into the 3rd dimension with Mario64 and gave us the perfect means to navigate those new places, the analog stick.
I was at a big party thrown by Sega for the DC many moons ago, it was in the Capital Bar here in Dublin and a real hoot. Good food, great tunes, nice freebies, pity no body cared by then
