For generations, the Skylanders have used magical powers and weapons to protect skylands.
But now, an evil tyrant has frozen them and banished them to Earth.
Only you can put them on the Portal of Power and bring them back to life to save Skylands forever.

Softmods - USB Loading

Confirmed working with:

Both USB Loader GX v2.3, and Configurable(CFG) USB Loader v70.

Load the game with:

cIOS247 [53] d2x-v7, or Hermes cIOS 223 [37-38] v4.0

NOTE: If you have modded your Wii using the softmod any Wii guide, you already have these cIOS.

If you're not softmodded go HERE.

If you want to install the D2x cIOS go HERE.

If you want the Hermes cIOS go HERE.

Set the loader to use a certain IOS

USB Loader GX -> Select The Game -> Settings -> Game Load -> IOS = Select which cIOS you want to use for the game-- Select "Save" to save.

CFG USB Loader -> Click the game cover art -> Options -> Where it says "IOS:",Change the cIOS -> Select "Save" to save.

Confirmed working with:

Neogamma R9 beta53.

Get Neogamma R9 beta 53 HERE.

Get Neogamma forwarder channel HERE.

MUST DO: In the main screen of Neogamma, select "Options" -> General Options -> IOS for games, and set it to "Autodetect".
This will automatically detect the cIOS needed for the game and load them.

Follow This Guide to install/update IOS on your hardmodded (modchipped) Wii. If having a black screen upon start.

Hi, i'm new to this kinda stuff, and am struggling a little bit. I'm trying to get skylanders to work (recognise the usb portal) and am having trouble. i have followed the mauifrog softmod any wii guide and all was ok. I have, installed 223 (37-38).wad file etc. Do i have to go into the cios folder in the homebrew channel and install it there aswell? I'm a little confused and any help would be greatly appreciated

Use CFG as your loader, select the game, then press 1 to get to the game options. Change the IOS to 223, save, then launch the game. Do not manually power on the portal, let the game do it for you.

EDIT: And please dont just randomly post questions in places around the forum where they do not belong. We have to keep some organization here. You posted in a thread that is 2 years old and about wii remotes not working. I have moved your post to the appropriate section.

thank you very much - everything is much appreciated! Now, obviously, i am no expert! but, if it works with 223 in cfg, should it not also work in gx? is there a problem with the config files? should i delete the config files and let new ones be installed? also, if you install an ios and/or cios as a wad file, i take it you do not have to install them through the ios installer aswell? and lastly, how do you know if you have the latest revisions/editions of usb loader gx/cfg/neogamma etc? If i posted a system check, will all of this information show up and you be able to point me in the right direction if required? Apologies once again for posting issues. thanks.

Yes it should. I said cfg because that is one of the loaders included in the ANY Wii guide. Wiiflow is also included in that guide, but it does not have the option to change cIOS. Everything you need to know is in the first post of this thread. If you followed the ANY Wii guide you already have the required cIOS.

I'm sorry I'm new to the forum. I am trying to figure out how to connect my portal to my computer. Do you have any advice in this area? My son would really appreciate it :)
