OK, so I tried out ModMii and installed all the Wads it gave me and Skyward Sword now seems to play fine off FAT32. I only had one freeze while using emuNand and none since I turned it off. Like I mentioned I had 2 different Wiis that I did with the softmod guide from here and both of them were having issues with this game from FAT32 and worked fine from NTFS.

Here is a system check from when I was having the issue

    Spoiler

And here is my current system check after running through with ModMii

    Spoiler

Not sure why you'd use the inaccurate b13 for the first one, and the one we always ask for (b19) in the second with regard to the actual SysCheck program. That being said, no discernible difference with regard to cIOS. And if it's a backup, it'd rely solely on the cIOS...

I think the old one I got from hbb at the time. I just dug it up from when I posted it awhile ago. I was having issues running it today, it kept freezing at ios236. I reinstalled the 236 wad from the softmod mod Pak after I got Zelda working and was finally able to get the system check to run again. I am stoked I can finally run this game from USB. Hopefully I can get Kirby epic yarn to run now too. Didn't really figure out what the issue was but at least it's fixed now.

I feel like this has been answered before but I'm not having any luck finding a solution.

I'm trying to play LOZSS and like a few others, when I try to enter the Pirate Stronghold (Lanayru Sand Sea), the screen goes black and I have to turn off the wii. I'm playing it in Configurable USB Loader, loading from a Fat32 Partitioned drive.

How can I fix this? I have a physical copy of my own and tried playing/installing that but the problem is that every time I open it up it creates a new save file rather than loading my old one. I love this game and don't mind playing it over at all, but at the same time, I've been playing for over a straight day and don't want to have to do that all again! Is there a way to get the game to load my old save file, or do I need to fix the file that I was playing?

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

You shouldn't have any issues using your save. You just need to know what save you are using. If your save was from playing from USB you might be using emulated Nand for your save. To play normally from the disc channel you need to copy the save Wii's internal NAND memory. I don't use CFG but it may let you do this in the loader or you could try something like SaveGame Manager GX.

If you are using Emulated Nand that may be causing your black screen issue. Turning off Emunand is one of the first things I usualy try if USB loading isn't working proper.

Oh yeah, update to my previous posts in this thread I did get Epic Yarn to work as well. I am assuming I had some sort of corrupted Cios install since system check showed no issues and re installing them fixed the problems. This is weird especially since MDMsumchecker is used in this guide to verify before installing, but it seems to have affected both Wii's I modded with the download. I may try to reinstall that download to see if the problem comes back but I am kind of lazy to do that.

Thanks a lot man! To answer, the save is from the USB. The issue is that when I do it from the disc channel it creates a second save file but never loads the USB save. How do I copy that into Wii's internal NAND memory then?

I'll try to figure out how to turn off Emunand. Sorry, I'm just not too confident with these things so excuse me if I ask stupid questions.

    Thanks again!

You can use save game manager gx hombrew app to do this. You can move your save from emunand on your USB to your wii with it.

Got savegame manager gx. Trying to find the emunand on my usb and am failing. Did copy all existing saves into my sd though so absolute worst case I guess I always have this data. I guess it's a n00b thing but I'm kind of lost. The weird part is that if I look at my Wii data when I go to data management in settings, the file is there, but when I try to run it from the disc channel or the version I ripped from that disc into my USB (which I guess might not match the one that was already in my USB?) it automatically creates a second save file, so I see 2 Skyward Swords in the Wii memory.

Weird. Not sure why it wouldn't match, maybe different region disc make different saves? I'm at a loss to explain that.

I think that's the issue. But thanks a lot for trying anyway though! I just saw that someone else in this thread had the same issue and fixed it by putting the game on an NTFS drive, so maybe I'll give that a shot.
