Didn't make sense to me either. The .iso file is 4.38 GB but I followed the FAT 32 guide & for some reason, it fit on the memory stick.

Your rip file should be exactly 4.37 GB. Why not just put the retail disc in the optical drive and install using USBLoader GX?

I wanted to practice creating an .iso file on my computer, but I can try doing that. Back to my original question...how do I change the base to 57? I already switched the cios from 249 to 250.

Go here to get the d2x cIOS pack. It gives a great step-by-step! Your cIOS will be updated and installed with the proper base.

Run the latest version of syscheck (guide in my sig). It will show you what bases you have installed to each slot. Example: 249[56] - 249 has a base of 56.

Since I just softmodded my wii yesterday using the "softmod any wii" guide, is it safe to assume that cios 250 already has a base of 57? Also, do I need the d2x cios installation, or is it already installed?

If you just followed the ANY Wii guide yesterday then yes your cIOS are already up to date and you have a base 57 in 250. I think it is safe to say that your issues go back to trying to use a 1GB drive for a 4GB file. It doesn't matter if it says it is there or not, it is just plain NOT going to work.

    Hi wiihacks,

I updated shopping channel and installed MF3 update. Now my wii is not turning off - the light goes yellow/amber on the wii when I turn it off from the remote of push the button on wii itself. It used to go red. Now I have to unplug it for the light to go red.
    What's wrong?

Read your Wii manual. It's supposed to do that. If you turn on Wii Connect 24, the light stays orange to let you know that messages are still receivable while the console is off.
