When is the USB device being plugged in? When the game starts it has to be plugged in not after you start, otherwise you're told to power down and restart the system (or the game via USB loader of your choice).

I wish I could give you a definitive answer to your troubles. Every time I get something new for my Wii it takes 45 minutes plus to figure out the needed IOS versions and/or hacks to use off of GX to get it to work. I've recently updated a few IOS versions through DOP-Mii and the shop channel to get Netflix Anyway.........Maybe you could use DOP-Mii to get a list of your current IOS's installed and their versions and let us know what you have on your system. I'll try to do the same when I get time.

By the way I run USB Loader GX with a portable 500GB Toshiba so I don't think that's the problem, but then again I've never used USB CFG (maybe I should try it )

    Thanks Pythagoras

Yes i have the hd and the EA USB plugged in before i even switch on the wii.

I was using USB Loader GX for ages. Im going to start using CFG now and reformat my drive from WBFS to FAT32 since everyone esle seem to be using it
I'll run dop-mii and i'll list back what i have

OK i just downloaded DOP-Wii v1.5 I have never used this before

"Install IOS36 (v3351) w/FakeSign" option fails with a dump screen (the first 5 install, then it fails) i have tried it a few times after reseting the power on my wii

Scan the Wii's internals (SysCheck) option fails with a dump screen

Ok i i got this running
    I selected IOS236 and pressed "A"

I can see that most of my IOS files are out of date. When i update the IOS do i "fake sign" then aswell?

I take it that i should only update the IOS files that relate to games/USB devices?

Here's a quick view of my IOS's and their versions. Dopmii is a finicky app. I kept getting a code dump all day then later on it ran. Whatever....

I can't say much about the "fake sign" and don't want to give advice that I truly don't understand, but I don't think there is a need to fake sign every IOS. You have 236 which what I do understand is the work around for the IOS36 stub (but don't quote me ). I did see that IOS57 deals with USB modules and that could help out (maybe). I figure you could at least use my list as a comparison to what you have running on your machine. Again I'm running 4.1U on IOS58

They mean IOS. You can change the IOS that your loader uses for each game by going into the game options for each game.
