    Donkey Kong Country Returns (Again)

Has anybody heard of anyone working on custom levels for Donkey Kong Country Returns? It'd be so cool if someone developed an application like Reggie for DKCR. I think that it would be awesome to have a completely altered game:

Probably not. The levels in Donkey Kong are build-up in a very different way than in Mario. Just take a look at the background in Donkey Kong. It's never the same, and in Mario, you see the same background over and over again. Unless somebody can create 3D levels and obstacles, we will not see such a thing as DKCR Again.

Would that be similar to custom levels for Super Mario Kart Wii? I've seen and played custom levels fot SMKW.

This doesn't qualify as "Up and Coming Games," moved discussion to the games section (since at best it's conjecture, at worst wishful thinking).

No, the levels in Mario Kart Wii are build-up differently than Donkey Kong its levels. In Donkey Kong, only the background is rendered in 3D. I think the platforms where you actually walk on are all 2D tilesets, but these could also be all 3D models.

Aside from that, are the custom levels for Mario Kart Wii pretty? No, they aren't. They lack in design, and most levels are modelled really poor.
I assume you don't want to play a whole Donkey Kong Country game with poor design and somewhat boring textures.

I see. Now that I think about it. My wishful thinking was not thought out too much.

This doesn't mean there will never be one, but the chance is very unlikely, due to the fact that the levels are partly 3D.
