    epic mickey requirements?

    friend brought over her wii because its softmodded (4.1u following the guide on here) and its attempting to update. she neglected to install priiloader so i did that for her. enabled the proper hacks, disc channel now sees epic mickey no problem. however, when i go to load the game, it black screens and nothing happens.

    DVD-R backups (specifically new super mario wii, donkey kong country returns) work great, but this one game will not work. its a retail copy, not a backup.

    i saw in another thread that it may require sys menu 4.3u, but i couldnt find the actual thread that the user referenced.

    i searched on here and only found 2 threads relating to epic mickey, neither of which helped me.

    Any backup via a backup loader exclusively relies on the cIOS, not the IOS. This an original or a backup? Your post suggests the latter; it works perfectly well with cIOS 249 Rev 17.

    original copy. when she modded her wii, she printed out the instructions. her printer put the last step (installing ios 38 through 58) and she did not install any of those. after i installed them, the game worked fine. copied to her hdd and it runs fine on cIOS38rev17, usb loader gx v938(i believe).

    @jc4bone

    rev 20, my understanding, is more a developers version. reinstall rev 17, as thats the most commonly (and most compatible) version out there. you might try rev19 if 17 doesnt work for you. if worse comes to worse, try loading it off of cIOS222. i run *all* my games, except for donkey kong country returns, off of that cIOS, because for some strange reason, NONE of my games will run off of cios249 rev 17.

    Hmmm. thanks for the responses, its weird because all of the my other new games, black ops, goldeneye, etc, all work fine, its just this one. I am on cios 249 rev 20 but others have said they run it fine from it. I have tried re-ripping the game to the HD and same problem. Have tried config usb loader v61, wiiflow, and usbloadergx (not sure the version but its old cause I don't use it). Here is what it does, in config loader it just says loading..... and freezes, in usbloader gx and wiiflow it goes to a black screen. Then after I power off the wii and restart it, the cd drive spins and lights up then powers itself back off but only on the first boot, then it will work fine after that, just not for epic mickey of course.
