Which version of Wiiflow? I use the 2.2 Beta with 249(57) Rev. 20. If you change configs, delete and then re-install the game.

It worked for me using WiiFlow to copy the game to my WD250 hard drive. I also use WiiFlow to play it. I haven't seen any problems yet.

create a wbfs folder in your PC and copy it, if you want to back it up.
    forget making iso.

Downloads - wiiflow - Project Hosting on Google Code

Have a look here and download the 222 version of WiiFlow.
Re-install the game within WiiFlow using your original copy of the disc.
    Load the game with 222/default.

Everything you need is listed on page 1 of this thread. Scroll down the page to find what you're looking for. Install Wiiflow with the Wad manager. You can delete the old version of Wiiflow after that or keep it if you wish.

I haven't gotten around to making a backup yet so i'm using the original game, i'm getting the following message when I insert it:

In order to use this software, you must perform a wii system update.
Select OK to begin the update
Please note that this update will add new channels to the Wii Menu.

I'm not sure whether to update or not? I currently have V4.3U

I plan on following mauifrogs guide to softmod my Wii in order to play backed up games in the future.

All our guides say don't accept official updates. If you're not softmodded as yet and since you're already on 4.3 it's not gonna kill ya. I'd tell you to use a backup loader and your original disc, but clearly you haven't even bothered to softmod.
