Did you do the Black Ops update or a Wii System update?

I'm not 100% sure you can choose. I load with a USB hard drive. It may work fine now that you have installed the other cIOS.

the disc wouldn't let me play at all until i performed a system update and then i got the black ops update from the online menu. I have priiloader installed but even after my update it still says my version is 4.1 and that my wii is up to date.

So you did the Wii system update, and then tried a backup of Black Ops, Correct? Make sure Priiloader is set to block Wii System updates.

Ok. I don't think Priiloader will even offer to update if you have it installed properly. It should block the update prompt on the disc loading channel. So if you were prompted to update, something is either wrong with the settings or install. You may have to re-mod the Wii.

what if i took my softmod off completely, update my wii, and then softmod again. would that be smart to do?

You might have to if you console was updated. Once again, I'm no pro with disc loading. I'm a hardcore USB loading fan. Everything runs so much smoother from a hard drive. If you are gonna mod the Wii again, use this link.

No need to take the mod off. If you updated then some of it will be gone anyway.
The link above for the mod any wii guide is the guide to follow, no need to remove anything else.
