    Seems like have managed to fix my connectivity issue, had to set "TCP Timeout" to 600-seconds in my router (was previously set to 300) Im using DD-WRT firmware, so this might be the case for others aswell if they are using this firmware. Seems like black ops needs longer time out for TCP, other games don΄t seem react to having short time out. Hope this helps some one else

    u said there was 4 updates how come i only got 1???
    and how do i get downloadable content???

    Read the thread. The first update was a download, second and third were not, forth was a download.

    The update prompt comes when you sign on to Multiplayer.

    Hoping someone can help....error disc cannot be read

    Not sure what I am doing wrong here, I have darkcorp v1.1 installed and have cIOS 249 v20 installed copy of Black Ops starts to read disc, says loading then gets so far before saying disc cannot be read, can't understand what i am missing. Wii is firmware version 4.3. I know the copy is good as it works on another modded Wii. Thanks

    i softmodded my 4.2u wii a few months ago using the guide from
    [We fail at hacking wii's] At first i could not run black ops as it will be stuck on the loading screen.After upgrading the ios 249 to rev 20,i was able to run black ops.However,i could not play online.I have not used shop channel before and so i went to internet terms and conditions and i accept it.It will say please wait a moment...and it will say the shop channel and wiiconnect24 is currently not available.Do i have to update my shop channel or something before i could get the update to go online?

    Have you ever used the Wii online before. Let me know in a PM so as not to clutter the thread. We will look into your networking setup just in case that is causing the issue.

    Just last night i followed the guide to get my wii to play black ops through the usb loader gx. tonight i was doing the same thing for my friends wii and all was going well until it came to the update part.
    It gives this message:
    Required Update
    An update to Call of Duty Black Ops is available. To advance any furthure, exit the game and start the Wii Shop Channel. If necessary, add Wii Points there.


    is this the doomsday message to make online play cost wii points???

    anyways, if someone has a copy of the download that i can install as a wad or something. that'd be great. It won't update. i've checked the COD: BO guide for anything and this seems like a new message.

    Any ideas how to fix this and get the update to play online?

    im using 3.2u still.

    Check to see if you need to accept the Wii Shop Channel User Agreement. If you accept it, you should be able to download the update. Some people have found it necessary to update the shop channel. I accepted the user agreement years ago. I still had to update the shop channel for mine to work. You will have to search for the Wad on this site as I'm not sure where it is. And no, you don't have to pay to play online!!!

    • Additional measures to prevent the “Transmission error” and other disconnects. This was most likely to occur with large parties where party members had mixed NAT types.
    • Updated handling for UPnP-enabled routers to improve matchmaking conditions where users had strict or moderate NAT types. Also added in-game communications so that all players are aware of their NAT type in the Player Match party lobby.
    • Addressed an issue with VOIP icons not appearing when USB headsets were plugged in prior to game launch.
    • Prevention of exploit that allowed players to keep custom classes and killstreaks after prestige.
    • Addressed an issue where Flak Jacket Pro would not always protect against ground fires left by Napalm Strikes.
    • Prevention of users losing their killstreak reward when switching classes at the start of a new round in round-based game modes.
