If the game is working then I believe you will be okay.
Although I may ignore you next time with attitude like that.
Never mind im getting a crap load of disc errors. Never should have gotten these crap JVC DvD-R DL disc. Also sorry no hard feelings mate
Using USB Loader, Metroid Other M is freezing during the cut scene with Samus, Anthony and the surprise boss (trying to avoid spoiler).
This was loaded straight from disc.
I've read it has something to do with this cutscene being right at the break point of the two files since it splits it into a ~4g file and a ~3.2g file, or something close to that.
Any ideas on how to make USB Loader work with the game properly past this point? I've tried running on 248, 249 and 222.
I am not sure how to force the region though, so I have not tried that step. Any help with that would be great and I'll give it a go. Is this a step to take when loading the game from Configurable USB loader or when burning the ISO from the disc?
I do have the latest IOS56 (confirmed with Multi Mod Manager as v5662) and I did try loading from 222
BTW, the link in the OP to the latest IOS56 appears to be dead.
Edit - Nevermind, I found that it's under "video" setting
Edit 2 - Tried Force NTSC and game wouldn't . Trying "Game Default" now.
Edit 3- well none of that worked

So no one else has experienced an issue with the cut scene freezing with Samus, Anthony and the boss about halfway through the game (probably a little more).
First I'd like to thank you all for the amazing support and guidance provided. I have been using these guides for about a month now and have gotten the hang of it. I have run into a problem that has baffled me.
Tried to back up Metroid Other M and I received the error "Could not open Disc" while using USB_Loader GX. So unlike most here I can't even get to the tutorial. I have never seen this error before. I understand that it is a dual layer game but I have successfully backed up dual layer games before.
Here is my sys check.

I bought the game at a used games store and it appears to be in good condition. I can't play it regularly without updating my wii. And I don't want to do that because I love not using discs.
I followed http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html
When I tried to load the game it said it couldn't read it. The Channel Disc ripper also failed to read it.
So I ejected the disc, inserted it and waited for it to completely spin up to speed. Then hit install. Presto it is now installing.

To fix it either way download this: http://cfg-loader.googlecode.com/fil...s_file_2.9.zip
Extract the folder somewheres. put your .iso file in the folder with the program. Create a shortcut of wbfs_file.exe. right click on the shortcut. In the target box you will need to add:
-s 3758096384 "nameofyourfile.iso"
Basically it should look something like this
C:\Users\yourname\Desktop\wbfs_file_2.9\wbfs_file. exe -s 3758096384 "nameofyourfile.iso"
now double click on the shortcut to run it. This will split the file in 3 parts instead of two but will keep all the movies on one part so no freeze. I've played the game from beginning to end and have not encountered a problem yet so I hope this helps everyone who is still getting freezes.
