Any help would be appreciated. Neogamma wont load the game either, error code 1053. The normal wii disc channel wont load the game either. 2 days with metroid other m and can't play it! HELP!!! Dont know how to set ISO in wiiflow, not in settings menu. PLEASE HELP
Looks like you and me are in the same boat, my Wii will not recognize the Metroid Other M retail disc either. It's not displayed in the disc channel, NeoGamma give an error when trying to boot it, CFG gives an error of ret -2, and my IOS222 version of WiiFlow cannot open the disc. It must be that our Wii's will not recognize a dual layer disc, it find it odd because I installed SSBB to my usb hdd and that's a dual layer disc.

I too have SSBB on my HDD, But I had it loaded in, not from the disc. Im looking for someone in my area that can load Metroid into my HDD for me. Seems to be the only solution right now. There's also an update in the disc, so hopefully I can find a scrubbed version.

Well obviously it can read dual-layer discs if it can read SSBB. What happens when you try to browse it with WiiXplorer?

I was reading on the Nintendo support page, first I should try to use a lens cleaner on it, then if that don't work to send it to Nintendo for repairs......yea right. The earlier Wii's had problems reading dual layer discs, but seeing since I've had the Wii for a while now, I think I'll get a lens cleaner. Someone even said to try putting the disc in and ejecting it, then press the reset button while reinserting the disc, I did that about 30 times and my Wii did read the disc in the disc channel, but when I went to play it I got a black screen, I must not have had the proper IOS for disc loading from the disc channel. I could not repeat getting the disc to read in the disc channel.

Apparently not all the early Wii's, because I got mine as soon as they came out. Hope the lense cleaner works for you.

I have been playing the game on the newest wiiflow ios222 forced to ntsc (I bought the game and ripped it) on a 4.2u softmod I had done everything it says to do and it has worked --I have like 4 hours of game play--

    Spoiler

    Any clues?

The Wii lens cleaner did it for me, now the disc gets recognized.

I bought a Wii lens cleaner from gamestop. Before I cleaned the lens I put the retail Metroid other M in the Wii, the disc was not recognized. So I cleaned the lens 3 times with the lens cleaner, and then re-inserted the other M disc, like magic, the disc is now recognized.

Just cleaned the wii lens and Metroid Other M now loads in the Disc Channel, but still cant get it on USB Loader GX or Wiiflow. I tried IOS222, IOS223, IOS249, and IOS250.

If you are ripping your retail copy make sure you have installed cios38rev17+ or set your loader to use ios222 or 223 then rip the game.
Your USB loader needs to boot using one of these IOS's - cIOS38 rev17(IOS249), IOS222, or IOS223. If your usb loader is not using one of these then dual layer support may be broken. What version of 249 do you have installed?

Just a warning, when using usb loader GX and using IOS222, make sure you have IOS222 v4 installed. I have seen a few members get their usb hdd corrupted using usb loader gx and IOS222 v5.
