    Loading Saved Game Hangs...

Well, I thought I got Metorid working... I sofmodded 1 - 2 years back on 4.2u so I had to install IOS 222 and 223, then installed the IOS 56 wad and had to get another iso image. But I was playing it for almost 2 hours (past training and babies cry). I got to the second save station in the game, at the point of going to Sector 1.

Well, I try and load the game and choose my save file and the "loading" just hangs... do I need to update/change something else?

Thanks a lot for any info!

*EDIT* Well, I just removed BootMii from the SD card (had installed the latest to Boot2) because I didn't want it auto-booting to it, and now the Metroid load worked... odd, but it works!

There is no reason for that to happen. It was probably just a coincidence that it started working. Uninstalling bootmii as boot2 was a horrible thing to do. I am not insulting you, just warning you. Reinstall it and change AUTOBOOT to the System Menu and BOOTDELAY to 1 (how many seconds to show bootmii at startup) with a text editor or Bootmii Configuration Editor. Having it as boot2 is impossible on Wii's now, and having it is what could save your Wii if anything goes wrong.

He didn't uninstalled Bootmii he just removed the folder from the SD card.

@coodkid- If you didn't wanted to Bootmii show up everytime you booted the console, you only needed to rename the bootmii folder.

Hey guys, thanks for the info on BootMii... Yeah, I didn't uninstall it, just moved it off the memory card. Good tip richardsito... I really only had to rename it!

So far so good on Metroid loading saved games too... not sure what was going on before!

    Ah, didn't catch that.
@coodkid- If you didn't wanted to Bootmii show up everytime you booted the console, you only needed to rename the bootmii folder.
If you (coodkid) do decide to use Bootmii Cfg Editor, just set BOOTDELAY to 0 instead of renaming the folder, and it will will not load bootmii anymore. If you rename it, the editor won't work.

If you don't plan on using the editor, then richardsito's suggestion works just as well.

I use a HDD because loading is faster, and I don't have to switch game discs (WHICH I PURCHASED). Besides, backups are not the only reason for hacking a Wii. One big perk is that I can watch DVD's with it.

I've done my best searching the forum and reading replies trying to find an answer but it looks like I still need help.

I'm softmodded. Using wiiflow 2.2 beta cIOS 249

I used the "Install Game" function of wiiflow to dump the game to my hard drive. Unfortunately wiiflow does not give me a way to rip the game using ios222. That COULD be my problem?

I followed the instructions to install hermes 222 and 223. I also installed IOS56. In the game settings, I have forced video to NTSC and set the IOS to 222. The game perfectly freezes when the camera zooms into Samus' eyes during the cutscene after the training exercise. No error, the wii just freezes and I must restart. The disc used for the rip is flawless and i've tried re-ripping it 3 times.

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Okay, I have a few suggestions, but keep in mind that I have never used WiiFlow:
    1) If your game/Wii is NTSC, then don't choose to force it. That may not be an issue, but in my experience forcing things when they don't need them can cause problems.
    2) See if your Wii freezes when you run it from the disc. Maybe you can get past that part on the disc, then continue from the USB after your next save.
    3) Try Configurable USB Loader instead. It is one of the most popular loaders, and can sometimes fix problems. However, not everybody likes it, so try this last.
