Can I play a PAL download on a USA Wii?
Hello,
I am very new to this. I have a new wii (USA) and I just installed a DC2 solderless modchip. I've downloaded 6 games that work and a couple that won't. I am finding that most of the downloads I'm finding are PAL and not NTSC. Will a PAL download work on mine? If not, any suggestions to any free download sites that have a good amount of NTSC downloads? Thank you for any help you can give a new user.

some will work and some won't. Don't do updates from different region games or you can brick the wii. You can use geckoOS to get around it, but best is to just stick to NTSC-USA.

Thanks to all who are replying. Question, what does "brick" mean? I have to start learning all this stuff. Also, I have been using Thepiratebay for downloads and most of them seem to be PAL. Does anyone have any suggestions to some good free download sites for NTSC's? Thank again

Total Brick means your wii is as good as a brick, it not do anything just sit there like a brick. A semi-bricked wii is one that will allow some functionality which means youcan still recover from it.

Thank you Jbloggs. If I go to play a game from another region and I DON"T do the update if it asks, am I in any danger of bricking the Wii in any way?

If you don't do the Update then you will be fine, I think you only get a choice to update otherwise you have to turn off your wii to not update.

Use Wiu1.1 or Wum (search forum) to first remove the update from the iso before burning.
