    This is odd. I am using the NTSC version, using the newest one (as of today to double check) available in the "Check for Update's" in CFG USB loader, and using loading from my hard drive, and using both everything on (forced NTSC, patched everything else) AND tried with everything off (default) the game still black screen's after a few screens after it starts to load. (IE- a few game company screen shots, then black screens)

    Not sure what i am missing here. Thought, the way both my friend and I were reading this thread, is that using the newest version of CFG loader 57b5 (read you can use either b4 OR b5) you didn't even need to patch anything any more. Reading the instructions seem clear, yet maybe i am still missing something. Please help??

Could any one post the way how to make the game work right? Thank you so much! The USB GX still not working.

    You dont need to patch anything you just load the game .....put a clean ISO of POP on your hdd...load with ios249

    1: Make sure you don't have a .wip patch in the directory as that will screw things up.
    2: Have video at Game Default
    3: Turn off all of: Video Patch, Country Fix, Alt Dol, Ocarina, VIDTV, Anti 002, Block IOS Reload
    4: If you are using IOS222, add disable_dvd_patch=1 to config.txt.
    5: Do not use return_to_channel option

    did you use the r935 of gx if so leave the settings at default

    same for cfg......and the game should load....

    for neogamma you have to use .wip method

    I AM GONA PUT IT IN THIS POST YOU CANT USE OCARINA...

    sorry about the earlier scrambled post, i am new here from afterdawn where i followed larry's guide to get my system patched on 4.1. since then i had kept my usb loader gx dol up to date via the internal update feature.
    the only update i have done recently was to get monster hunter 3 running Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4).zip which i assume is the same as the one in Cile's sig

    i am sure there are some files i need to update in order to get newer games working but do not know what versions i am on.
    is there a reporting utility that can show me this?

    anyway what i have done in order to try and get the pal version of this game working is:
    1 downloaded an alt dol
    2 downloaded the .wip file and created a folder on the sd card
    3 deleted the above folder and update the usb loader gx to r935.dol and taken off all patches in the loader. when i did this i got an 002 error which i assume means that something else has to be out of date. when i do put the oo2 fix on it does load the initial screen and blacks out after all the makers ads with the 2.5 ext hdd light blinking off at regular 5 secondish intervals

    Neogamma R8-9(Without patching the dol)

    Download and use the .wip that matches your game region and put it in neogamma folder(make one on the root of your sd)

    RPWZ=NTSC
    SPXP=PAL

    PoPwipTest1.zip

    Enable looking for patches, disable EVERYTHING that patches the disc in another way(Ocarina, language, video mode patches, Country String patching etc) and when loading check that it says patch applied.
    When i did the 4.2 hack there is no folder for a NeoGamma so do i create one and if i do where do i put it?
