I am using 4.2u and did all the modding required.
I followed your guide but didn't quite work (had a black screen at load up if i used 223 or 222)

Anyways so i used the new cIOSX rev19 and works great.

Grab the new cIOSX rev19 here

I stuck it in my SD card apps folder(did not test just using my hard drive):
    1. Create a new folder in your apps folder named "cIOSX_rev19-Installer"
    2. Extract/Copy contents of download into folder
    3. rename "cIOSX_rev19-Installer.dol" to "boot.dol"

    To Install:
    1. Open cIOSX_rev19-Installer with Homebrew
    2. Use IOS249 during installation
    3. A to agree to disclaimer
    4. Select IOS37 v3869 then press A
    5. If you have a network connection switch and use that, but if you want to use offline download this file and place it in the wad folder in the root of your card (sd:\wad)

This method apparently works on many different loaders so hopefully it will work with yours!!!

Settings im using for my USB Loader GX is:
    Video Mode : Force NTSC
    IOS : IOS 249
    Error 002 fix : Yes
    (leave everything else alone)

Here is a video with a guy using it on many loaders:
Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) works on just about every loader there is

    Enjoy Gaming!

    *Edit*
    Confirmed Loaders:
    1. NeoGamma R8 Final
    2. USB Loader GX
    3. Wii Flow (IOS 249)
    4. Configurable USB loader
    5. Coverfloader
    6. NeoGamma R9 Beta8

    Confirmed Burned CD backups
After everything else, this is the only thing that worked. I think this ought to be edited into the OP post to save some folks some time, or at least linked in it.

Ive tried everything in this thread and the threads that people have linked within it. nothing seems to work. im not sure what im doing wrong. what disc loader is the best for loading monster hunter tri on a 4.2e wii. im using neogamma r8 ios249 (rev19) but ive tried softchip backup loader 100. with softchip loader 100 i get (loctl error (DI_ReadID) in red writing at the bottom of the screen. with neogamma i get disk read error 1167. Ive read the above posts and followed them to the letter but to no avail. any help would be great.
    thank you

I've tried the method in the OP and the cIOSX rev19 approach. The farthest I've gotten when loading with CFG or WiiFlow is the strap image followed by the checking memory screen. After that I'm stuck on a black screen. Other loaders wont work at all.

Does anyone know what my problem could be? I have the corresponding IOS the game needs to run as well.

Please help me!! I Want to play but I can't get past the freeze :(

OK I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO INTERNET BY MY CURRENT LOCATION, BUT I RECEIVED OFFLINE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GET PAST THE FREEZE AND PLAY.. BUT I CAN'T , CAN ONE OF U SMART PPL HELP ME OUT BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD BUT IT DOESN'T WORK (THIS IS INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BUG FIX OFFLINE)
    1. Download the cIOSX rev19. MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

    2. To set it up create a folder named cIOSX in your apps folder then place the cIOSX_rev19-Installer.dol
inside the cIOSX folder and rename it boot.dol (so the setup should look like this F:\APPS\cIOSX\boot.dol).

    3. Load up the homebrew channel and start up cIOSX rev19.

    4. For the first option that appears click (A) on 249.

    5. You should now get a warning screen press (A) to continue.

    6. Here keep pressing right until you see IOS 37 once you've found it press (A) to continue.

    7. Now it will ask you where you want to install from you can either do it from a .WAD or you can use the network option so it downloads and installs everything for you for this guide I'm presuming your connected to Wifi so press right until you see the network option and press (A) to continue.

If you have a network connection switch and use that, but if you want to use offline download this file and place it in the wad folder in the root of your card (sd:\wad) IOS37-64-v3869.zip

    8. I can't remember if it installs it straight away or asks whether your sure you want to do this but if it does ask if you want to do it press (A) to continue.

    9. Wait until the words "press any button to continue" appear on the screen then do as it says, this should restart your Wii.

    10. Load up your Loader of preference and find your Monster Hunter Tri, I'm not sure if you have to do this for NTSC Wii's aswell but for Pal Wii's go to the load options of the game and make sure you change the TV setting to NTSC and load it from IOS 249.

    11. Load the game and enjoy, hopefully if you've done everything right you won't have any trouble with the freezing buzzing screen when you chose to begin the game"

    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    Download this: Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4).zip
Extract / copy it to your apps directory on your SD card.
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
Read the warning message and push A
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
Wait for download and installation to complete
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
Select IOS249 to perform the install again
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select merge with IOS38 and IOS37.
In your USB loader, make sure to load with CIOS223 when you're booting the game.

Start the game up with your favorite USB loader and play!

If the game fail boot, play around with the options like "error fix 002" and "force NTSC".

    good luck and have fun
When I get to 'Install Custom IOS 222' and select it, my only options are: Use 36 (default), Use IOS 37 merged with IOS 36, Use IOS 38 merged with IOS 36, Use IOS 60 merged with IOS 36.

Is there something I am doing wrong here/something else I need to do?

EDIT: Nevermind. I redid the rev19 update and it works perfectly now.

    I SOLVED IT

My First post, Sorry I was too busy searching

I Just got the Wii this week , hacked and setup thanks to Wiihacks, Excellent site.... anyways.....

I had the problem with the Beep and then I tried to use the Solution from the first post using 223 to load MH3 and that just lit up my Wii drive and left a message on the screen saying "Please Wait...." Both resulting in me getting up to have to RESET the Wii.

Here are steps I took and perhaps they will help you as your posts have helped me.

Im running 4.1E and the ISO Game is running on my USB Harddisk.

First I ran pimpmywii to check to make sure I had all the latest IOS files etc...

Next I installed the latest cIOSx REV19. Now here is the trick! When installing 249 rev19, you need to install it with base 37.

I ran the game in CFG Loader, but im sure in theory it should work in all , just with the copy I have I had to Change the setting to NTSC and run the game using 249.

Hope this helps coming from a Noob Thank me if it does

This is copy of my post I opened thread for that got locked. I'm sorry for that. Hope you can help me.
So I followed the guides in the forum and installer hermes 223/222 ios, updated with rev19... The game runs fine, but there is one very annoying issue :
When I'm online every time I open the item box it won't close and when it does after 20-30 times of pushing the button and there are herbs to collect, it starts to gather them without pushing the button and I can't cancel it. The game runs on both ios 222 and 223 and I tryed PAL and NTSC versions on both USB and DVD-R without any result.
Besides that the game starts only with usb loader, I updated neogamma and it still makes that awful sound after Start Game.
    Please help.

P.S. I had the same problem with the demo before I install anything new.

URGgg im also still absolutly clueless as how you guys are getting this to work, i have spent the last couple of hours going trough this thread but i just cant seem to get it right

I got the hermes file, used ios 249, merged the two files, then i also got geo gamma 8, but when i run geo it says that my cios is rev 10 and need atleast 17

now i went browsing for the cios rev 19(is the hermes and cios19 the same thing?), and found it, extracted it from the rar file only to find about 4 ios files in wad format, think it was ios 37, 38, 60 ec, ok so i copy them to the sd card, open wad manager but only two of the new ios are availible to select, the one installs but the other gets an error..

im yet again clueless, any help would be really awesome...plz
