    Red face

Thanks for this guide Dave but unfortunately i could not get it to work this way on my 4.2E SOFTMOD (used Waninkoko's guide).
I tried about 11 different combinations of options but always ended with a black screen and blinking DVD light. Should probably mention that the backup DVD is an NTSC scrubbed version of MH3 and i used USB Loader GX channel version (not forwarder)

I had to use SoftChip R99 plus the Ios55 bugfix which worked without any problems, i also didn't have to force NTSC or PAL as apparently my TV supports both

Just posting this here for anyone who still cant get it running with your method.

Thanks again Dave, if it wasn't for your guide i probably wouldn't have bothered trying to get the game working, which now that i have played it would have certainly regretted it.

Can someone confirm this works =)?

    Well cIOSX rev19 works!!!

*note* This is taken from said video before but a little more elaborated i guess you could say

I am using 4.2u and did all the modding required.
I followed your guide but didn't quite work (had a black screen at load up if i used 223 or 222)

Anyways so i used the new cIOSX rev19 and works great.

Grab the new cIOSX rev19 here

I stuck it in my SD card apps folder(did not test just using my hard drive):
    1. Create a new folder in your apps folder named "cIOSX_rev19-Installer"
    2. Extract/Copy contents of download into folder
    3. rename "cIOSX_rev19-Installer.dol" to "boot.dol"

    To Install:
    1. Open cIOSX_rev19-Installer with Homebrew
    2. Use IOS249 during installation
    3. A to agree to disclaimer
    4. Select IOS37 v3869 then press A
    5. If you have a network connection switch and use that, but if you want to use offline download this file and place it in the wad folder in the root of your card (sd:\wad)

This method apparently works on many different loaders so hopefully it will work with yours!!!

Settings im using for my USB Loader GX is:
    Video Mode : Force NTSC
    IOS : IOS 249
    Error 002 fix : Yes
    (leave everything else alone)

Here is a video with a guy using it on many loaders:
Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) works on just about every loader there is

    Enjoy Gaming!

    *Edit*
    Confirmed Loaders:
    1. NeoGamma R8 Final
    2. USB Loader GX
    3. Wii Flow (IOS 249)
    4. Configurable USB loader
    5. Coverfloader
    6. NeoGamma R9 Beta8

    Confirmed Burned CD backups

Maybe it would be a good idea to modify the original post to not confuse people more as Neogamma does indeed work to load this disc.
I confirm that after installing cIOSX19 using IOS37 as base the game worked perfectly loading through Neogamma (R8 beta 15 and R9 beta 6).
Thanks to the OP and all who've contributed in helping to figure this out.

That would be up to the author of the guide. This is what a continued thread is for, people to ask questions, confirm or deny method workability, and to present alternative methods they find or create. All one need do is look through the thread as that is what it is there for.

I had the exact same problem as this guy, and did what he said and mine worked.

Games boot fine when I use 249, but when I choose 222 or 223 it freezes my wii. Using this method, I was able to boot with 249.

    Thank you so much!

I've tried Hermes v4 (merged 38 and 37) for both 222 and 223 but every time I try to boot I get the Error#001 message and it's driving me insane.

It will load on 249 but as soon as I hit 'begin game' my Wii starts to make a funny noise and freezes.

I've also tried installing ciosX rev19 but then usb loader gx doesn't work.

Anybody else having the same problem? And hopefully fixed it?
