super smash bros brawl not working :( HELP! - Wiihacks

i just got my pimped out wii i bought off ebay. it has a wiikey mod chip and chameleon case. i was so looking forward to playing super smash bros brawl which i bought a couple days before it came. i made sure to peel off the security seal in case i needed to return it and i kept the receipt.

first off me being excited i set up the wii, turned it on and i put the game in (not knowing i put it in the wrong way the first time) so i tried the other way and still nothing.

i tried wii sports which came with it and raving rabbids also came with it and they both work fine. i then went into disc/game channel and put the game in. you can see the disc spinning making its usual little reading noises and then you can hear a sort of clunking noise and the disc slows down (now you can see the red laser flashing) and then it comes up with a black screen saying "push eject, take the disc out, restart the wii console then consult the manual" or something along the lines of that

is the problem the disc? or is it a desperately needed firmware update?

please help me out i want this game to work i waited so long to play it

and i dunno if the shop will let me trade for a new one.

i am borrowing a couple of my friends games tomorrow and im going to see if their disc of smash bros brawl works on my console if thats the case i will take mine back to the shop and se eif i can return it. but if the game does not work on my wii should i try updating the firmware?

I NEED HELP!!!!

first download the wiikey update 1.9g ISO on gbatemp.net,
after you download and unrar the ISO, burn it at 4x speed,
insert it in your wii and using your gamecube controller, follow the instructions on how to flash the wiikey (if the system have the genuine wiikey)
Just simply press A on the gamecube controller and the disc will start to flash the chip.
After it finished flashed, reboot the wii and remove the wiikey update disc and try the SSBB game to see if it works.

i don't think its the mod chip alot of people have been having the same problem with SSBB.

apparently the only way of doing it your self is opening it up and cleaning it but the dude before me who had the wii threaded all the tri-wing screws so bad he had to nail the screws back in

im just gonna sell my wii on ebay and get a new one. atleast i know its brand new and i can mod it all myself and not have it pre modded incorrectly

Smash Brothers does have a problem because the laser has a hard time reading the dual layer if it is dirty at all. Nintendo even accepted Wiis for cleaning if you bought smash brothers and couldnt play it.

This may not be relevant or not; But I do have a Wasabi in my Wii; now when I first got brawl I learned a few quick things about it.

1. If being played on a PAL console; if being played at 50hz it will lock up with Mario's Down+B move (FLUDD) and Squirtles Down+B. (Withdraw)

2. If your -not- using component cables for you Wii, it is still playable but there is a bit of work to be done. Firstly start the game in 50hz, go into the display options and turn the filter 'off'. Restart the console, swap it to 60hz. Load the game. Now you won't see the usual 'ESRB' & Safety screens and whatnot; but a blank screen. Now this isn't all bad; they're still showing said screens; just they're not appearing on your screen. Hit the buttons on your control a few times and wait (I'd say between 2-5 min

). The opening video should play and viola, SSBB @ 60hz with no lock up.

Mind you as said I am not sure if it's relevent, this is also from my own personal experiences with a legit import and backed up version of Brawl. I'm also not sure if this is PAL only issues either.

for every1 having problems with ssbb try this

start up your wii
load up homebrew channel
load up geko os
now put your ssbb dvd in the wii
select load game

they you go guys it now works no probs this even works for dvd-5 version ( scrubbed )

Actually what you want to do is update to 1.9s not 1.9g. 1.9s addresses the SSBB original issue ( I beta tested 1.9s so I know it works

).

Grab the padded version for your region from here. You dont need the config disc, just grab the 1.9s update. Unzip/unrar Burn with imgburn @4x and update your system. Hit reset at the approriate prompts.
