If you update a Korean Wii (and if it's been region changed) to 4.2 you'll brick with Error #003 --- rendering the unit useless. No cure for this to speak of thus far... check out the bricked section of this site for the gory details.

And that's exactly right... this thread is left open to funnel the "fails" (as we like to call'em; usually pertaining to searching in this case and finding this thread) here while the new threads get closed.
Ah, thanks for the correction there, i just remember the name from what i used, (Hermes' cISO 222 Installer) as it's seen from the Homebrew Channel - so i got it mixed up a bit.

Just because you fit into the majority that succeed in having their systems operate fully like those who create the guides, don't be so quick to dismiss the troubles that others have as always being user error.

For 300 bucks, why not get another wii anyway, one that isn't korean?
Sent from my van, down by the river.

Don't worry mate. We are on the same boat. Next time try lots of searching before upgrading. Read more, cost less
I'll tell you "if" I ever get to make MHT on Korean softmod wii.

PS: Don't update your wii to 4.2 if you have Korean.

Yes, very true though. If that were me I would buy another wii. But he isn't us

Ok guys. I need big help here.

    My WII:

    Wii System: 4.1U
    Originally Korean Wii
In Homebrew channel it says: IOS 35 v 4.16

Ok, so I have tried everything. Read guides, tried it. Including Hermes' 222/223 v4.
Played with everything Game language, Video, Error 002, Country patch, IOS setting. Nothing ever worked. I have tried every USB Loader that is recommended, latest USB Loader GX, Uloader, Configuable USb loader, Neo Gamma. No luck.

The problem: Can't get passed after "Checking Wii System Memory". After it says Checking Wii System Memory, it goes black. No noise, no vid, nothing follows. But the Wiimote is still in power (there's still the blue light).

I'm still waiting for those experts to help us.

If there's one thing that those guides out there, including here, that forgot to put in mind, is that they never considered each and every type of wii system and the disc type.

They never mentioned what settings and update for this type of wii or disc.
In example, I have a Wii USA version, 4.2U, softmodded, and the MHT is PAL. They never mentioned what to do with with this type of wii or disc.
So what in major happened is that people who read guides just tried this and that. And when succeeded they try to help people but with no clue, and for the one who still have problems gets more and more frustrated.

Ok, so yeah, we still need help. As mentioned above, my Wii is quite different from the majority hence I couldn't get the MHT to work.
My Wii details and problem loading MHT is posted on the first parts.
Now can anyone pls help us. Thanks.

PS: If you are going to, try to mention specifically for which wii type and system and disc region.

    All...

I followed this to get monster hunter tri working http://www.wiihacks.com/wii-games/56...tml#post348157

but not only did it not work, now most games that i play seem to freeze. Games are ran through usb gx loader rev 828 iso249 (rev 14)

    Softmoded 3.2e

can i just undo what i did? if so how? cos if i go back into cios 222 installer, there is no uninstall option?

So i found dop-mii and it seems like there's an uninstall option. but what do in uninstall? 222,223,37,38?? bearing in mind

    Download this: Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4).zip
Extract / copy it to your apps directory on your SD card.
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
Read the warning message and push A
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
Wait for download and installation to complete
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
Select IOS249 to perform the install again
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select merge with IOS38 and IOS37.
In your USB loader, make sure to load with CIOS223 when you're booting the game.

Remember the golden rule: never uninstall an IOS below 200 --- never. Remove 222/223/249/250 and reinstall Wani's IOS 249.

You may want to address the outstanding things I mentioned here:

If you didn't follow a wiihacks guide on the softmod, that may be partially the source of the problem as well and it'd be recommended you seek assistance from the folks that provided that tutorial. Good luck.

I've hacked dozens of Wiis and I finally came across one that did not play Monster Hunter Tri. Turns out that this was the first hack I did that I upgraded from the factory 3.4U to the Waninkoko 4.1 hack. I ran thru all the updates, Hermes v4 and v5, etc. and nothing worked. It locked up in NeoGamma, Softchip, USBLoader GX on 222, 223, 224, 249, 250.

I finally found out that that the reason was that the update to the hacked 4.1 left IOS15 at version 257 with the Trucha bug. Once I used the restorer to put IOS15 back to 266, everything worked again. I just wanted to share this incase somebody is having all kinds of random errors because their IOS15 hasn't been updated back to the patched version. This is something that I will always put on my checklist from now on.

Considering this IOS is supposed to be V523... I find this of questionable value. Not meaning to dis ya, but either one of those is out of date.
