Followed the instructions that were given by both davepm and watermelon but I still get a black screen. Any alternate solutions? I'm using USB Loader GX.

Followed instructions several times and I still get the black screen with loud noise.

    I don't understand why.

I have it set to IOS223 on the boot settings in USB Loader GX, I tried changing block IOS reload, Force NTSC, and a bunch of other crap and still not working.

What the hell is going on?

I heard that you if you're loading from USB and using USB loader GX, you need Rev929 and use IOS223.

I am updating now and will edit if it works.

Fantastic, I just updated and now I get a black screen and the game won't even boot.

    This is ruining my day.

    Download this: Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4).zip
Extract / copy it to your apps directory on your SD card.
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
Read the warning message and push A
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
Wait for download and installation to complete
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
Select IOS249 to perform the install again
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select merge with IOS38 and IOS37.
In your USB loader, make sure to load with CIOS223 when you're booting the game.

Start the game up with your favorite USB loader and play!

If the game fail boot, play around with the options like "error fix 002" and "force NTSC".

    good luck and have fun
After following you instruction, once i select the ios and attempt to install, I keep getting a Failed to acquire File warning when attempting to download, any idea whats gooing on?

There is no need to install as IOS222, You only need ios 223 as 37 merged with 38, changing your ios222 install might break other stuff.

Black screen is usually a missing IOS problem, you probably havent installed the IOS that the game requires (IOS55 v5149)

I'm using neoganma R8 any help?

EDIT: I updated to R9 just now and realized that I wasn't loading on cIOS222 so how do I do that with neaganma?

EDIT#2: Ok You can't use the IOS223 loader on neogamma so now I'm using the usb loadegxr and IOS223 is not an option! What the hell!
If you can read, you would already know why neogamma wont work.

If you have no option of 222/223 for loading then its pretty obvious you didnt install them, as you seem to have completely missed the stuff about neogamma in the guide, it would be logical that you probably missed the bit about installing the cIOS too.....

The condescending tone is always appreciated.

Anyways I actually did install 222 and 223. In USB Loader GX 222 appears as an options but 223 does not. Imma try updating my version of it to see if that's the issue. Any actual tips?

it seems you can't use the loader without a USB. sucks.
also when installing hermit, you must have wifi turned on.
