Look out for this.......
I just downloaded a game that was ntsc usa and found after looking at it in WIU 1.1 that it had a pal update. Apparently someone had did a region patch changing it from pal to ntsc but never removed the update. This could brick your Wii, so always check your iso's before burning. I am learning fast.

thx for the heads up! I had downloaded like 17 games and didn't know about the update checker. I patched the updates(was only update on like 4/17). Is there any way that the games will not function with the Wiikey Wii updated to the latest firmware because of my patching?

Yes they will play.....
if it is a game foreign to your console region...it has high chances of semi-bricking your wii...
the updates should be removed from all foreign wii games forst BEFORE playing....

These are the same updates that you would normally go into the Wii settings to update your wii but are included in some games. So if you update from a game that is not the same region as your wii then you WILL brick your Wii, therefore, they should be removed from the iso using wiu1.1

So if you see that the game is going to do a update, couldn't you just go to your Wii Settings and do a system update from there? So it would be your own Wii Console updating itself?

Yes, that would be the safest way to update.

Safest thing is to remove all updates. Why take a chance with a $300 console?

I said to update the system via the wii settings, which doesn't have any risk pertaining the system. Read before you post.

Sounds like somebody needs a nap! Okay, go ahead and play your other regions with the update intact. Then when your little sister puts the disk in and bricks your wii, you can say "madmarty told me so".
