When you go to your Wii Settings and do a system update through that IT UPDATES IT THROUGH YOUR OWN WII, HENCE THE REGION WOULD BE THE SAME AS YOUR WII, THEREFORE VOIDING ANY CHANCE TO BRICK YOUR WII.
Go try it, then you can come back and say "McTwitch told me so"

Calm down guys. I think what Mctwitch is trying to say is that even after you update from the Wii itself, if you put in a game from a different region it will still ask you to update and if that point you say 'yes' to the update then it will brick your wii. So what it boils down to is that to play it really safe (pun not intended) one should remove the update from the iso especially if its a game from a different region than the wii and to always do the update from the Wii itself.
