Different problem with SSBB
I bought a wii one month ago and installed the mod chip D2pro9, with 1.1b firmware. I can play a copied SSBB after installed the Utility Disc 1.4. Then later on, I accidentally upgraded wii to 3.3U, a well known fix for hacks, after that, the wii is unable to read the SSBB anymore, even I applied the fix from the Zelda Twilight hack and upgraded to Utility Disc 1.5 last night. Anyone experienced this too? Please help.
I can play other copied games such as Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart without problem.

Does Utility Disc 1.5 upgrade the firmware to 2.1? So I still need to install 2.1 alternative separately? Thank you for help.

the modchip is not the issue here because you ssbb copy work before. To me it looks like you have the dvd5 version of ssbb which has no videos in which case it trucha signed and the only way to play it would be through geckoOS

There are two types of SSBB files out there, one is around 4gb the other is close to 8gb. The smaller 4gb file is DVD5 while the 8gb file is DVD9.
The smaller file has been shrunken down so it could be burned onto a non-DL DVD which needs to be trucha signed to be able to play on a Wii. So if you have a 3.3U, you need a special item, GeckoOS, to play the DVD5 file on a 3.3U Wii.
If you dont want GeckoOS and you have a 3.3U Wii, then you need to find the 8gb SSBB version, in which the files aren't shrunken down, to be able to play on 3.3U.
Hope what I said is right, I'm fairly new to the Wii as well but did a lot of reading.

My SSBB is 8GB and was burned to Verbatim DVD+R DL disc. My wii is moded with d2Pro9 v1, with a CLK jumper soldered. I did applied upgraded with D2pro9 Utility 1.5 and fix of Zelda hack. The wii firmware is 3.3U. There is reading error if I directly loading SSBB from game channel, but through the geckoOS in Homebrew Channel, I am able to play the game.
I hope this will help those who have similiar problem.
