You may want to check around about that game, you may need to do some kind of update to run that one, you may not have the IOS you need with 3.1 firmware, since that game uses a microphone. Disney Sing it Pop Hits requires system menu 3.4 to run and probably installs an IOS to use the microphone, but I see you have Sing IT (not the Pop Hits), so that is probably different. I don't load from disc with a chipped Wii, so I'm not up on that stuff. You may want to make a post else where on how to properly update your chipped Wii, only because you shouldn't update to 4.2 thru Nintendo right now. You should be able to get a disc with a 4.0 or 4.1 update on it, that may take care of your problems. But don't use an out of region disc to update your Wii, or brick it you will.

You have an good Wii for softmodding, 3.1 system menu, you can probably install bootmii as boot2.

you can update with a retail Wii game disc. In fact, hard modded Wii's should be on the latest firmware, but I would disagree with that since 4.2 is not good right now, you should be on 4.1, but I really don't mess with hardmod, maybe somebody with hardmod experience will post. by the way, I checked Disney Sing It, and it has a 3.1 update on it, and more than likely it also installs IOS37. I know that my Wii did not come with IOS37 on it, I had to install it manually. There is a way to burn a disc to include whatever update you want to put on it, you could install required IOS's that way, but once again, I have never done that stuff since I have a softmod. Probably your best bet is to get a hold of a retail disc with 4.1 update on it and do the update. But don't quote me on that, search around and ask questions.

If you want to run a disc update to get you to 4.1, run NSMB. Just so you know you could have been throwing away perfectly good burns this whole time. Just because you load a game and see only a black screen doesnt mean its a bad burn. First off stomp was right when he said your probably missing an ios. Actually everything he said is right on. You do have a great wii since your on 3.1. My firmware was 3.1 before I hacked it and got it to 3.2. You can install bootmii as boot2 and can backup your entire nand on an sd card which is a huge plus. Honestly what I would do is use that game to update to 4.1. Dont use nintendos system update as what stomp422 said as that could screw it all up. After you get to 4.1, that game you have problems with should work. If not, then that disc update either didnt install that ios needed or didnt update it to where that game would work. Once again since you have an older wii, you can also softmod it and install bootmii. You can install preloader as well. Also if that game doesnt work, you can use wad manager to install the ios thats needed to play the game. Plus theres many more things you can do.
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me by pressing the little thanks button.
