Anyone who wants to explain how to get this bca-thingy working with a .iso? I want to burn the game to a dvd and play it as any other game on my chipped wii (= no loaders or other magic stuff)

lol just when I thought I had a relevant post on WiiHacks and to add insult to injury I just downloaded another version of the game that was scrubbed and had a BCA patch.

Now at least I know why that scrubbed and patched version disappeared off the tracker so quick

yep, scrubbed got removed as the original 1:1 is bad

    NTSC works fine though.

Was worth you posting the info tho as at the time it was assumed BCA was the problem, Crediar, one of the Wii gods said in irc that it doesnt actually check the BCA coding and its bad in a couple of places.

Sadly, as a newbie that all means nothing to me - is there a guide or tutorial to teach me - hopefully you can lead me to it
right now there is only one .bca files in the first post, just download it and put it in your /usb-loader directory on your sd card. Avatar doesn't use .bca protection, it was just a bad dump that was causing the freezing

when you say put it in /usb-loader directory on your sd card - I have searched the contents of the Uloader / CGF directories as downloaded and that folder does not exist. if I have to create it, specifically which folder does it go into please ?

/usb-loader is for cfgloader, if you're using a different usb loader, then you won't have that directory and as far as I know, only cfgloader supports .bca file loading

Not to cloud the issue, but the latest NTSC iso burned to dvd should be able to be played with neogamma w/out any patching correct?

yes, this is just another way of doing it that will, in time, become the 'normal' way we think.

IF you have access to a retail copy of the game, then you can obtain the BCA code yourself to patch the game.

It is assumed (and confirmed by some) that the modchip manufacturers will also introduce fixes for this.

You need a copy of uLoader for this:ULoader

    And CFG USB Loader: CFG

Run uloader with the retail DVD.
Click on the show BCA option
Copy the values to a .bca file using a hex editor
    copy that file to /usb-loader/gameid.bca

This thread will keep a list of the known BCA codes for released games.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THESE FOLLOWING PATCHES ARE OF NO USE YET AND ARE FOR FUTURE USE!

DO NOT ASK WHAT TO DO WITH THEM!

    Premade Patch for NSMB PAL/NTSC (offset:0x100): nsmb.ppf

    PPF-o-Matic: pdx-pom3.zip

These patches should be compatible with any UNMODIFIED ISO.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone has any to add, please reply with the details.

Currently the only known BCA protected games NSMB.

AVATAR IS NOT BCA PROTECTED, PAL RELEASE WAS A BAD DUMP.
    hi

i somehow figured out that i should probably download the supplied SMNP01.BCA file on dave's guide for Mario PAL version, put it onto the root of the usb-loader folder in this way - SD:/usb-loader folder/SMNP01.BCA

--AND turn ON Error fix ----

the game finally works for USB LOADER GX!! i got past the setting screen , so far i have to try to play it yet... hopefully it will not freeze in the middle :P

once again thanx heaps guys for pointing me to the right direction!!

PS: I have also bookmark this thread in case future games have this silly block called BCA!!

    hi

if you are like me and use USB LOADER GX, then do not worry abt Uloader/CGF directories.

Just go to your SD card, find "apps" folder, open it, and find "usb-loader" folder (this is your USB Loader GX folder), then put the downloaded SMNP01.bca directly on to the root of the this folder so it looks like this - SD:/usb-loader/smnp01.bca

then do not forget to TURN ON ERROR 02 FIX from Games Settings menu before you start game

then it all should work - well the above finally works for me anyway, let us know if this method works for you, good luck
