I haven't played rayman yet, but I can comment on monkey ball.

The 1 player regular game is awesome! The wii controller seems like it was made for this game. It took my girlfriend and me a few minutes to get used to it, but once we had it, we had a blast going through the levels. It's a good think i don't get motion sickness, because the camera view whips around & up and down like crazy! You know that feeling you got in your stomach when you were a kid on a swing set? Well, I've felt that playing this game...lol

The multiplayer mini games are a little weak IMO, but they can be fun with a few people. One thing that drives me crazy is that they are so slow paced--you have to select a game, play it, go back to the menu, select another game...I was hoping for something faster like warioware.

If you're looking for a party game, it's probably not the best choice, but for a one player, or team effort, the main game is great.

Same here, I've only played super monkey ball, haven't tested rayman yet. For super monkey ball, I've only played the mini games and I can tell you that it is a great party game IMO, other than what the previous pointed out about the slow paced environment of the game choosing. The 50 mini games are definately fun and entertaining, they take full advantage of the Wii controllers.

I have both and tend to play Rayman the most. However Monkey Ball has a larger variety of mini-games, but Rayman has hooked me in more, so far at least...

Is the one player in monkey ball similar to the previous games in the series?...that is puzzle solving and the like?

I've never even heard of Rayman but I didn't like monkeyball when I played it on my friends phone. Obviously the wii is completely different so maybe I'll love it.

I'll just rent it at blockbuster if I ever get a wii.

It's similar to the other monkey ball I've played...I think it was on PS2 but i'm not 100% sure. It's more of a maze type game than a puzzle game although there are bosses at the end of each world that you need to figure out how to beat. My girlfriend and I have been playing almost every night after work for a few hours and we're completely obsessed now!

The control system is way better than the standard analogue stick setup--moving the remote is so intuitive it really becomes 2nd nature after a few levels

I heard RayMan is a lot of fun but I don't know anyone who has tried Super MonkeyBall so I can't give you too much of an opinion. Sorry.

I read a review for Rayman and it's supposed to be a lot of fun.
