Ok. I have a Wiikey installed, have never had my wii updated or online (still on ver 3.2) and I have both copies of this game. I have the PAL iND release of NSMB which I have patched and put onto a SD card using WBFS (formatted with as well). I also have the 4 GB Bahamut release that I burnt to DVD. I have loaded the USB Loader GX, Wii SD USB Loader wad, and Neogamma r7 onto a different SD card than the one the games on. Now I realize I dont need all these loaders, but I just put them on the SD in a folder called "apps" in the root of the card in case one didnt work for me.

So as Im going along Im finding out I need a copy of Zelda Twilight Princess to load the Homebrew Channel in order to get the neogamma on my wii??? Is that correct? Do I actually need to have the Zelda game in order to get this NSMB game working with a wiikey? I am in the USA and I see the Qwiif NTSC release, but I figure Im going to need to do the same thing, right? Can I do this without the Zelda game in order to load Neogamma? Please help. I have gone thru so much already to get this game working.

    Thanks

Really? The PAL version worked for me with WiiFlow the first time I tried it and the NTSC version worked with the new R21 WiiFlow the first time as well. Seemed pretty easy!

I am currently running 4.2U and a Drivekey, however am trying to softmod my system so that I can play NSMB. Please bear with me, as I'm new to softmodding so I just want to be sure I don't brick my precious wii!!

I followed the "Full hacking guide for 4.2" tutorial, and now have a homebrew channel with ios249rev14 installed.

I have tried loading the unpatched and patched ISO from both DVD and SD Card using NeoGamma R8Beta7 but am still having problems - I get either the green screen and reboot (trying from DVD) or I get the black screen telling me to restart my wii (SD Card).

So now I assume I need to either install ios249rev15 or IOS53-64-v5406.wad (or both) but I'm scared that since I'm running 4.2U installing either or both of these will brick my unit - the "full hacking guide for 4.2" states: Do not uninstall ioses with a number lower than 200!!!)

I just would like someone to verify that I either can, or cannot install the above files with 4.2U. I have a USB drive ready to use with NeoGamma R8Beta7 but I don't want to go any further until someone with more experience softmodding 4.2 units advises me!!

    Thanks in advance!

Wait a second, are you telling me that I DO NOT have to download an IOS60.wad? (I have 4.0U Wii).

    Will these steps work?:
    1. Install IOS53
    2. Patch IOS53 with DOP-IOS
    3. Play game happily

By having updated to 4.0 before, do I already have the IOS60 on my Wii?
If I do not have the IOSes, will DOP-IOS download them for me?

Somebody is using the wrong setup. I haven't updated, installed, or patched any IOS's in 7 months (except the cIOS 249 and 222) and all the games work fine, including NSMB.

install ios60, patch 53, patch 60, install 56, run dop IOS, update to 4.x, softmii, riskiimii, soft chip (blah), cIOScorp (epic blah, blah) I say blah, blah, blah, don't need any of it.
