Just wanted to interject something that worked for me. If anyone finds it useful COOL.

The download links on the first post are down so I went toolin around in my noggin trying to find a way to get the game to work.

I'm using the 2.2 Beta version of Wii Flow. I took my retail copy of NSMB and installed it to my hard drive. Obviously it doesn't work.

I have, however, been playing NSMB 2: The Next Levels (which is crazy fun, I reccommend it to everyone) with no problems.

So I used the tool mentioned in post 1 "WII Scrubber" and extracted the main.dol from "NSMB 2: The Next Levels" and replaced the main.dol on my retail iso with it.

LUL and behold it works 100% now. Probably an easier way to do it, but hey it worked for me. Since apparently google nor mediashare likes the patch files posted.

you patched the iso of the game?
use a different loader, gx is not one of the best. if usb loading use cfg loader or wiiflow, if discloading use neogamma or uloader.

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks

Hello there. I basically followed the first couple of steps in the guide on how to load from disc on a softmodded wii.

I got a message after running make key bin and opening wiiscrubber saying unable to open key.bin

Id really like to get this game working can anyone help me?

I have 4.3E fully up to date softmodded wii having just followed a major guide on these forums. And I want to run a backup DVD of the game.

OK so i managed to open the ISO in wiiscrubber.

when i go to the main.dol, i cant right click on it. nothing happens.

also, the two links in step 5 are dead.

Is there a way forward from here to get this game to run?

By the way, I somehow got the game to run the first level using Neogamma, but i noticed when Neogamma loaded the disc it said "Patch Not Found", i played through the 1st level and then got an error msg saying to take the disc out.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT? i have read through this entire thread, and im stuck. I did notice that post number 1005 said something about an alternate way to do it... using an NTSC version of the game though. I dont have the NTSC version, I have the PAL version

I had both versions and tried both. The NTSC version if I Recall wouldn't load at all. it seems to work for most people up to the point where it does for you, but I'm guessing that it might be something with the different Hardware revisions.

I base this speculation that a friend of mine who soft modded his wii has a much older model than I and has fewer problems with it, I gave him my NSMB backup disc and it worked perfectly for him, he finished out the whole game. I couldn't get it to work at all, never mind to the point where it would actually load. I Wish I could be more help to you but I thought you might want to know that you might have worse luck with NTSC.

I'm guessing you didn't buy the game.

LOL. thanks anyway I even tried following a youtube videobut that didnt work either. it didnt even load the game this time around. Never mind.

Il give backing up this game a miss I reckon. That is, at least until I get an external harddrive and do it through wiiflow or something, maybe then it willl work.
