I have the game installed on a usb hard drive. How would a stick be better/different?

Let me clarify: NSMB works great when I load it from usbloader gx. I created a channel for NSMB with Loadstructor but when I load the game using the channel instead of usbloader (one less step is always good), the game crashes. I know the problem has to be the settings in Loadstructor because both the channel and usbloader gx are loading the same game file from my usb hard drive. I need to know what settings to use in Loadstructor to make NSMB work. Can anyone help me? You can refer to the pic from the previous page. I hope that makes better sense.

Let just first say that I have NOT read all threads. Sorry.

I have a chiped Wii, and I have no problem playing this game.

But I'm now helping a friend with a "black Wii" that can not read DVD-R.

I will get a hdd and all run USB Loader GX from a SD-card.

I yesterday tried this thing with a 8 gb USB-stick and that worked with Wario smooth games.

But now when I try to add New Super Mario Bros, WBFS Manager, only say the game is 0.35 Gb big? Why is that? Do I have to do something with the iso?

Piclair.com - Share what you see!

In this pic there is no iso added to the USB-stick, but I have just removed it, and it was 0.35 GB also then.

EDIT: The game works? How the fuck can the game be only be 0.35 GB?

OK I have a problem now...

The game did work via USB loader. I updated to CIOS 38r17.

The game gets to the screen that tells you to hold the joypad sidewards, then goes to a black screen.

I reverted back to CIOS 38r14 which it worked fine on but this still happens.

Will this be resolved if i patch the game?

I read just about everything in this thread, and I'm having a problem still.

    I have

-latest version of USB Loader GX
-Rip from an actual game, installed on my HDD by USB Loader GX
    -Hermes 222 installed

According to the first page I don't need to patch the game since I have the newest copy of USB Loader GX.

The game loads fine, plays fine....but freezes every single time I get to level 1-2.

I can play 1-1 fine, but as soon as it shows how many lives I have left and tries to load 1-2.....it's a no go.

What gives? I thought I should have been golden according to what I've read in this thread?

    What can I try?

    Okkkkk...hmmmm...

On a whim I decided to delete the game from the HDD and then reinstall it via USB Loader GX....and now it works.

Before I did that...I installed Hermes 223 with 38. Still no go. So THEN I deleted and then reinstalled the game. Now it works.

    Thoughts?

It depends on what chip you are talking about but most haven't had an update in over a year so there isn't much hope for them. :/

Nice. But why is the other game that much bigger? Can't say that Mario Kart och WarioWare is THAT much more graphical game..?
