    re: the new mario game

I have a problem. I have purchased the new mario bros game and am trying to make a backup of the game. I have it on my external hd, but when I try to play the game it goes back to the menu screen. I have all the fixes for the game downloaded on my computer. But I can't figure out how to patch it, its already in a iso file and I cant open the file. I've tried magic iso and power iso and still cant get it opened to patch. Can you please give me some insight on how I can get it to play on the disc as a backup

    New Super Mario

    [UPDATED WITH THE LATEST INFORMATION]

    For USB loading:

You can use the newest NeoGamma R8Beta, Coverfloader, USBLoader GX, CFG-Loader or OpenWiiFlow, which all should be able to run the Game without any patches needed.
Or you can put the fixed ISO (see below) on your Drive, using your Favorite Manager, and play it with any Loader you like.
Or you can use NeoGamma R8Beta13 or above, cIOSrev14, place the included .wip-Patches in SD:/NeoGamma/, and enable "Search patches".
Or you can use CFG-Loader and the Alt.dol Trick (rename the fixed main.dol to SMNP.dol and place it under SD:/usb-loader/. Then select in CFG-Loader Alt.dol from SD and play the game)

For Disc-Loader Users (no ModChip, only cIOS):

The patched game (see below) works fine with rev14 and NeoGamma/SoftChip.

    ModChip Users:
You can use NeoGamma R8Beta13 or above, cIOSrev14, place the included .wip-Patches in SD:/NeoGamma/, and enable "Search patches".
Or you can try the newest NeoGamma R8Beta, which should be able to run the Game without any patches needed. THE ISO MUST BE UNPATCHED!
Or you can try GeckoOS, and these Cheats for your Region. Place it under /codes/, and activate Ocarina in GeckoOS.
Or you can download and Install IOS53 and your System IOS (3.2-3.4 = IOS30, 4.0/4.1= IOS60, 4.2=IOS70) and patch them with the Trucha Patch. Use (DOP-IOS MOD) for this. Then play the patched ISO(see below). You'll need a Wii that is connected to the Internet!

    cIOSCORP Users:
The patched Game(see below) works fine with a rev 14 dipped IOS53-v5406 or IOS53-v5149.
    Its in cIOSCORP 3.5

    Patching/Fixing the ISO:

    1) Download WiiScrubber 1.40
    2) Run the "MakeKeyBin.exe"
    3) Open WiiScrubber, and select your ISO
    4) Search for the main.dol -> right click -> Extract
    5) Download THIS and THIS
    6) Open PPF-Patcher, choose the main.dol for input and the PPFf-Patch for your region, and klick apply.
This is the patched main.dol that you can use for alt.dol-Loading. If you want to patch the ISO, read further.
    7) Back in WiiScrubber, search again for the main.dol, right klick -> Replace and select the patched main.dol
THIS IS ONLY IF YOU HAVE A NON-MODIFIED RELEASE!!!!

if you get a 002 error, then check your loaders settings for "002 fix" or "anti 002" some loaders do this automatically, some dont!

credits to VKI, who made the PPF-Patches and WiiPower, who made the Loader Patches and Blue-K from GBAtemp

Problems after 10 or so mins of playing New Super Mario Bros.

    Some data:
    Running IOS249 rev16
I installed USB Loader GX using the Installer for Windows, downloaded and installed noon 5th of january.
USB Loader GX claims to be of Rev874, says it's up to date.
My USB install of NMSBWii was made through the USB Loader GX gui, using my own legit retail disc.

When trying to run the game from a game channel made through the Crap software (no pun intended ), I get the Error occurred, please EJECT screen.

I have now however, been playing for a significant longer time without errors, after starting the game directly from within USB Loader GX. If anything changes, I'll post it to this topic.

Anyone any idea why it's not working through the channel?
Ok, here is what i think I have found. If you are using the WiiKey 2 as I am and you can only play the new Super Mario Bros for like 10 or so mins before getting a disc error. What I found on another site is that you have to update the WiiKey 2 to version 1.3, here is the link to do so Support for Legacy Wiikey Products I will report back as my disc just got done burning so i can update my WiiKey 2 myself, be back soon with update.

I'm still getting the error but it happens a random times (mainly when I die).
    hear are the facts:

NeoGamma R8 rev15 iso249 (did also download is060) both the channel and in HB
    using the wip patch.
Unpatched copy of NSMB (from thailand)

I'm going to download a new later becuase the disc does look a little scratch and it is from thailand

Well I thought I had got this up and running after updating to rev 14. That got rid of the freeze after "Press 2 to start" but now the game freezes after so long of gameplay. Hmmm.

ImgBurn won't sense my DVD+R disc, does this have anything to do with in the "Computer" Files that it says DVD+RW?

Does your computer see pressed and burnt discs? Usually this problem is due to not being able to read any discs. Also make sure it is the right drive and not a virtual drive.
