    While it's not the utmost newest, I know this post links to the same version of NeoGamma I used (it's a wad file; if you're using the non-wad app, you of course have to leave your sd card in your Wii when you should've been loading NeoGamma).

    Correct. Black screen when I run Neogamma (from the SD card as you pointed out). Do I need to also install IOS248 or IOS249?

    I honestly feel your pain. I am thinking about doing the same as well. I tried everything that is in this guide and it still doesnt want to work.

    Running
    wii 4.1u
    NTSC
    Homebrew channel installed and works perfectly with other backup games
    cIOS38_rev14-Installer

    This is what I have done so far to get this game to work
    --> Patching/Fixing the ISO:
    --> Same result green screen

    --> Updated to NeoGamma R8Beta13
    --> Same result green screen

    At this point i am tired of reading everyone post as they say they got it to work but never with a how too, and tired of when asking for help all they do is point to this guide which it doesnt help. It looks like the game does not want to work from a dvd.

    Anyhow i am with you on this as well.

    Thanks all

    Answer: time to download another 4gb (in the sense if you were going to apply the image patch to an unmodified full disc image).

    Um, check piratebay (I got an unmodified image there and applied the patch released right after that and it works via disc for me; I haven't tried it via USB HD as yet, tho I do have that setup).

    Edit: disc in sense via NeoGamma as a channel rather than loading off SD as an app.

    It seems most people who get the black screen upon NeoGamma loading up (not speaking of the game here, of course) have better luck using the wad and installing it as a channel. It's an either-or-thing (that or your Wii is missing an IOS; I think my SO's cousin's used IOS248, if not 249). Try the wad and if that's a no go, then go for the IOS.

    Edit: unfortunately since yours is... non-patched, right? This likely won't work. If you still have the original disc image and it's not a scrubbed/stripped one, I could probably point you to the patcher I used...

    I was finally able to get this working with the Gecko OS and the installed cheat. You need to install the Homebrew channel, the Gecko OS and the cheat as what is on page 1. You take the Gecko OS and place that in the apps directory. Take the cheat either for NTSC or PAL and place that in the codes directory on your SD card. Launch Homebrew and run the Gecko OS. Take your backup and run it and it should say code or cheat applied right before it loads. I was getting an error previously on World 1-2 and went for about 20 minutes and completed World 1-3.

    I think this the safe way in case you don't want to install a CIOS.

    I am having trouble playing this game. I have a fixed copy that I burned to a dvd (using Verbatim DVD) and 2x speed. But everytime I try to play it I just get the disc error screen. I have burned it 3 times now and I still keep getting the error screen. Each disc gives me the error at a different place in the game (one does it when the game first starts, the other gets it when I try to play the dungeon level on the first stage, and the third gives an error when I get about half way through world 2.) Could this be a disc quality problem? or just an iso problem? I am loading the game using Neogamma r8 beta 15.

    Can someone tell me what is "PPF-Patcher" in step 6 (see below). I have followed the steps and I only see "NSMB Wii PPF-O-Matic". What do I do wrong?

    6) Open PPF-Patcher, choose the main.dol for input and the PPFf-Patch for your region, and klick apply.
    This is the patched main.dol that you can use for alt.dol-Loading. If you want to patch the ISO, read further.

    Also, My ISO copy has two partition

    Partition 1 - Update
    Partition 2 - Data (original). Which

    and both have main.dol which one should I extract and then restore?

    Beta15 is "broken" for some and is a known bug/error. Observe what WiiPower says (developer of NeoG):

    I told Waninkoko about the bug like 100 times, last time yesterday with the latest beta version i got.

    The bug i mean is the following:
    If a loader writes the correct value to address 0x80003184, the 001 check fails.

    The result of this is:
    001 error on disc channel (this means, among other things, most likely no cioscorp possible with rev15)
    001 error on discs in NeoGamma and SoftChip
    green screen freeze on usb(and most likely sd too) with NeoGamma

    I will not release a "fixed" version of NeoGamma for rev15!

    With this issue i don't care about possible still broken wifi and low sdhc compatibility.

    Ok, since Waninkoko seems to have left the scene, let's try to get an overview of what we have got:

    cIOSrev7:
    Plays only discs, no dual layer, does not work on new Wiis. (LU64+ issue) But nothing else to complain

    cIOSrev8:
    Does not play new 001 games, does not play 002b games, only discs, does not work on new Wiis, maybe not disc channel compatible*

    cIOSrev9&10:
    Does not play new 001 games, does not play 002b games, does not work on new Wiis

    cIOSrev11:
    Does not play new 001 games, does not play 002b games, maybe not disc channel compatible*

    cIOSrev12:
    Does not play new 001 games, does not play 002b games, not disc channel compatible*

    cIOSrev13a:
    Does not play new 001 games

    cIOSrev13b:
    Does not play new 001 games, does not play 002b games

    cIOSrev14:
    does not read the end of the 1st layer causing trouble for all DL games and maybe very big SL games

    cIOSrev15:
    not disc channel compatible*

    *Also means not NeoGamma and SoftChip compatible see rev15 bug.
