    I am not sure how this is repeating yourself as I am asking about Wii Key 2 and your post (#1021, page 103) talks about Wii Key 1....

    As for your unanswered question, I can -at least- answer the Ghostbusters part in a couple hours. I will try to run it on Wii Key 2 (on a HB virgin Wii).

    But I don't think anyone can actually tell you whether Nintendo would continue to use this new protection or not at this time.

    Well my question was what does this protection do. Of course no one will know if Nintendo would continue to use this or not but I'm guessing Yes.

    Also, the modchip shouldn't matter. All of them get the same result whether it's Wiikey 1 or 2, d2sun, drivekey, etc. That's why everyone has to patch this game.

    Patching is not really a problem -at least for me-

    I just wonder if there's a way to run this game on hardmod only Wii's, if the latest patch (v2) does that, than fine. But the NFO states

    Can be played with softmods, Modchips, USB Loaders, etc. Don't forget to have the IOS 53 trucha bug signed for this game.
    So this IOS 53 trucha bug thing makes me think that I would need to have HBC on my WiiKey2 modded Wii...

    Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

    How about a different method for everyone. Get an unpatched Wii game. Follow this instruction on how to patch the game manually with a hex editor. Anyone know the steps for the PAL version so I can update my tutorial.

    You should even use this to examine the main.dol file in your patched NSMB game to see if it's correct.

    The reason I'm saying this is that mine didn't work for 3 days because my main.dol file was wrong.

    Update: The main.dol on page 1 is the patched main.dol for the PAL version. I just opened it to see. I've update my tutorial with the correct offset for the PAL version. Can someone let me know what the original value is (before modification)? Is it the same as the NTSC version?

    Through Wii Disc Channel, then yes on IOS 53. Through USB loaders or NeoGamma via DVD, then No.

    Hi Mate.
    Still got problems getting this to run ...

    Got cIOS249 now but running Neogamma v8r12 still get green screen !!!
    I downloaded the Nitro version which is supposed to be patched correctly I think ...
    I cant do the IOS53 patch unless I can connect to internet via my PCI wireless adapter card - I aint got a router.....
    Tried forcing video in Neogamma with no luck !!!

    Any other advice ???

    I'm reporting in the staus of what happened to me.

    My Wii:
    3.4U
    Homebrew Channel
    NeoGamma r7r8
    CIOS Rev 14

    I downloaded from BC the NSMB_USA_Qwif release along with the NSMB_Patch. All I did was unpack the Qwif rar. Ran the batch file to the iso.

    Burned the game at 2x using img_burn on Sony media DVD-r. After that I ran the game using Neogamma and it ran. I do not have the IOS_53 Truncha installed, or anything like that. I also did not have to update my Wii.

    Played for about an hour and a half earlier this morning.

    So I guess the IOS 53 is really not needed, or maybe I installed it with the some other IOS's I installed, I don't know. SO many to count. But it works!!!

    Unless you want to modify the banner bomb hack to load DOP-IOS to install IOS 53 patched instead of the homebrew channel.
