Okay seems I was one of the harder machines to get this game to run, and I'm a relative newbie when it comes to soft mod.

okay my wii is it 4.1u and I have a d2ckey (hardmod), i tried nsmb burned disc, patched and unpatched versions, no love on either.

so then i read up and then read some more and followed larry's guide to softmod my wii, so then i tried neogamma r7, patched and unpatched version of the game again with no love (green screen)

so then i read some more and realized i needed to upgrade to neogamma r8, finally figured out how to do that, so then i tried patched and unpatched versions again no luck, by this time i was about to throw in the towel

so i go digging in my closet and find this old piece of crap hard drive, i format it with wbfs and put on the unpatched version and load it up with ubs loader gx, so again i get that friggen green screen, so i delete the unpatched version and put on the patched version and TA DA!!! it works. So trust me guys, if someone that didn't know what soft modding was a week ago can get this game to run reading these awesome posts so can you. Thank you to everyone that had a piece of advice i pretty much used them all til I hit the jackpot, GREAT GAME!

wiihacka493: Truncha is not needed for the USB loaders nor for NeoGamma.

How about this. What is truncha? It allows a patched Wii DVD to be played through the disc channel. One way to play the game through the disc channel is to have a hardware mod.

Ask yourself this question. Did you burn a DVD of a game? Can you play that backup through the Wii Disc Channel? If so, then did you truncha sign that game you just burnt with a program like WiiScrubber? If you answered no to any of those question, then don't even bother with truncha.

1:1 backup of games (through a program like SuperDump 1.3) burnt on DVD played on the Wii Disc Channel OR WiiScrubbed games played on a USB loader doesn't require Truncha.

    Hope this helps.

You should use the tutorials on page 1 to get it working though a USB loader or any one of the alternate methods in that tutorial. Truncha is NOT NEEDED for the USB loaders.

motleydude: You can try but I don't know if it works.
well, i updated to 4.1 and then ran the truncha program, eveything went well. inserted the game in and still back screen error lol

    Still confused.

If I have a hardmodded wii (wiikey v1...v1.9) then why would I want to softmod my wii? Don't you do one or the other, not both?

I have no idea how to install neogamma, I have searched but can not find anything for that or if I have to have the homebrew channel installed first to install neogamma?

I am assuming that if I use the proper patch on the qwiif version of the iso and burn to DVD (want to run from DVD) that all I have to do is load the game through neogamma? Is that correct?

I have a purchased copy, but since many people were having problems I thought I would try and see how I made out, which to this point is not working out very well.

first of all it is noone else's fault if you thought simply having a modchip would always solve your problems. nintendo is always gonna try to stop this for softmodders as well as modchip users. many folks have come to the realization that they were gonna have to make some changes and do some reading of softmod tutorials to get this particular game to work. there is a tutorial section in this forum that will walk you through the process of softmodding. this solution is never considered permennent as it will always evolve to accomidate the needs of the community based on what nintendo does next.

mavblues: have you tried to use a usb loader to verify your iso image works? If it doesn't work though a USB loader, it won't work from DVD. That would be the first thing to test. Do you have a USB hard drive formatted as WBFS. Since my US game is only 0.36 GB, a small usb thumb drive should be sufficient.

I tried another SD card reader first, but it didn't work. Can't find a picture but it had a "wire"
