Actually I got the same problem with the NTSC version. The sound starts up in the beginning for the company logos, and once you go into the actual game, nothing is playing whatsoever.

looking back at the comments from where i got it from, only 1 person out of about 100 comments has had sound problems, so it seems its something unusual! no idea what tho.

Possibly unrelated warning! - Was playing the god awful Pool King today and it had no sound. I pressed Home and it came back on, I preferred it without sound. Soon after I deleted it. Do they really expect people to part with money for this kind of crap game?

that bad? not got it, probably wont bother now! sounds like such excellent games as rig race, london taxi and international athletics.

I've played snooker and pool games before. I can remember playing one on the Acorn Electron in my friend's house. I can also remember the rather excellent Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker on Atari ST and it's follow up on PC. Nothing had prepared me for the awfulness that was to await me when I shakily started up my Wii this afternoon and chose King of Pool from my Hard Drive.
Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe the instruction booklet would have described how to line up a shot without trusting to the nunchuck stick, which when trying to move just the slightest amount actually ends up moving a good couple of ball diameters away.
Awful.

I've still got my 520STFM in the Garage. I've thrown the discs away though.
I think I had a Snooker game on my Vic-20, that probably predated your ZX Spectrum game. [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
Ah nostalgia.
