Guitar Hero 5 - Run from Disk Guide:

    1. Install this wad.

    IOS56-64-v5146.wad

    2. Download and run multicios, and install IOS 37 as IOS 232.
    MulticIOS Download Here

    3. Download and run SoftChip, make sure to use IOS 232 and make sure the 002 Fix is enabled.
    SoftChip Download Here

    4. Disk in, turn up, rock out!

The first two steps link to a "hidden" directory that does not contain those files. Posts very soon after the first post said that most people did not need the first file, so I am not worried about it. However, I'm pretty sure I need to install the things mentioned in the other steps. The last download (the mediafire link) works, but I didn't see any of the others in /hidden/.

Okay, sorry if bumping is against forum policy, but I couldn't find rules anywhere to check against. This is a shameless bump since it's a stickied help thread that hasn't seen help in 3 days. Surely someone can answer my questions. Again, sorry if bumping is against forum policy, but I couldn't find any rules to check against.

TRY THIS YOU DONT NEED WIFI

THIS SHOULD WORK BECASUE I DOWNLOADED ALL THE FILES ON SD CARD THE UPLOADED THEM AND HERES THE GUID TOO

and i made a guide using CYB3RFR34K guide but i edited and made it simpler (well for me it is =] and it worked)

FIRST YOU NEED TO COPY ALL THE CONTENT INSIDE THE "COPY TO ROOT OF SD" TO SD CARD THEN YOU FOLLOW THESE STEPS

1 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
2 - Read the warning message and push A
    3 - Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
4 - Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select Use IOS38 merged with IOS37
5 - Wait for download and installation to complete
6 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
7 - Select IOS249 "again" to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
8 - This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60
8 - Start the Homebrew Channel and run Wad manager 1.5
    9 - select USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder-UCXF.wad and install on ios 249
10 - Quit wad manager, quit homebrew channel.
11 - Now, in your wii system menu look for USB loader CFG channel, click on it and Start it!
12 - prees B so it can show the list of your games
    12 - find and Select GH5 game
    13 - press 1 on the control
14 - scroll down until u selected ISO: set it to use ios 222-mload
15 - click A to start game (there should be a green line acros the screan for a couple secounds, its good) and the game should load then ROCK ON!!! XD
16 - dont take out the sd card just leave it in your wii

    - Edited by BOOSKILLA but Thanks CYB3RFR34K for his guide that i used

and it worked for me for the following games

    Rockband 1--TESTED AND WORKED
    Rockband 2--TESTED AND WORKED
Rock Band Track Pack: Vol. 1--TESTED AND WORKED
Rock Band Track Pack: Vol. 2--TESTED AND WORKED
    Rock Band LEGO--TESTED AND WORKED
    Rockband: The Beatles--TESTED AND WORKED
    Guitar Hero 5--TESTED AND WORKED

If you don't have GH5 working yet, this is the step you are missing!!!

***UPGRADE USB LOADER GX TO CURRENT REVISION 921***

First: Install Hermes' cIOS 222 v4 Installer and select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select Use IOS38 merged with IOS37 then re-run installer and choose custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60.

Second: ***Update USB Loader GX To Rev 921 or most current revision*** rev 921 is the most current revision as of today 3/23/10 check here for the most current revisions. To do this you will have to choose one or both of the following methods: (1) Update USB Loader GX On SD Card or (2) Update USB Loader GX Channel. (note: for some unknown reason, trying to update USB Loader via the update button located in the settings of USB Loader GX does not work and the program always says no updates found, or at least this is what mine did...)

    (1) Update USB Loader GX On SD Card (update .dol file) To do this download the most current revision here and copy it to the USB Loader GX folder found in the apps directory on your SD card. Now delete the existing boot.dol file and rename the r921.dol file or most current rev.dol file to boot.dol. Now load USB Loader GX from homebrew and go to GH5 and choose settings. Now change Load game from IOS 249 to 222 and turn the 002.fix on and you're in business. GH5 will now work on USB Loader GX.

    (2) Update USB Loader GX Channel - First delete the existing USB Loader GX Channel if you have one installed. (I'm not going to get in to how to do this... if you don't know how to delete existing channels on the Wii just go to the Wii settings and figure it out.) Now that the channel is deleted, go to your PC and download the r921.wad and put it in the wad folder on your sd card. Now run wad manager 1.5 and choose to install the wad you just put in the wad folder. Let the installation finish and go back to the wii menu by hitting the home button. Now you can change the game settings on GH5 to load game from IOS 222 instead of 249 and turn the 002.fix on. Now play the game and rock on!!~ If this helped you please hit my thanks button!

Glad I could help! Spent many hours trying to figure it all out. Found plenty of guides saying to install Hermes' cIOS 222 but nothing explaining how to upgrade USB Loader GX. I would guess that your version of USB Loader GX didn't upgrade through the program either... correct? Please click my thanks button so I can take credit for the information I provided if you haven't already. Thanks for the reply.

USB Loader GX didn't upgrade through the program. I installed both the .dol and .wad cause I like the chanel for the kids, and for me on Homebrew. Thanks given!
