This method does work with USB Loader GX.
All other GH titles still work too of course which is great.
ftr, I soft modded my Wii from 4.0e to 4.2 using Dogeggs' instructions on WiiHacks.

I have followed this thread and tho its extremely complicated for a newbie but I manage to get it working in the end...
However, after all this I have a question.....
Is it just guitar hero 5 or some other games also we have to change all them settings to be able to play it? What is the difference between the genuine game disc and what we downloaded or iso back up? why do we have to go thru all these??
And if I have a genuine disc, and back up using USB loader, did I still have to do all that changes in order to play the back up game??
Sorry, I am just curious into why some games are required this in depth changes and some games don;t

I followed the instructions from page 1 and this still isn't working for me. I've tried all the settings in softchip as well. When i try to set the IOS to use as 232 softchip won't go back to the main menu automatically like it should. Any ideas why?

Howdy, and thanks! This forum rocks.
Questions, to be crystal clear, under the section "Guitar Hero 5 - Run from USB Loader Guide:You need Wifi Access For This!"
Step 1 refers to the file uloader_v3.0B.rar, right?
Step 4 requires that I put the SD card in the Wii, right?
Step 12 refers to the file SDUSB-Loader_cfg42.zip, right?
Step 13 refers to the file USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder.rar, right?
Step 16 requires a) that I have WAD manager 1.5 installed (how?) and b) that I put the SD car into my Wii (with no other contents on it?), right?
I was referred to this guide from here http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...wont-work.html, at the bottom of the original message in the thread. In that message, I assume that since I have Wii Menu v4.2U that I should skip all the instructions in that message, and instead follow the ones here. Right?
I ask the above because I wanna be able to use my Beatles Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments to play a backup of RockBand2 from my USB drive. I can load the game (using USB Loader GX), but only the microphone works. I guess the result of the instructions here will be that I have a different USB loader, and that my instruments will work.

The multicIOS download from step 2 of the "from disk" part of the guide in the OP is down (or at least I don't see it in the provided directory). Can it be rehosted?
EDIT: Is it the cIOS 222 installer (rev4)?
