im confused with copy elf file and rename it? I found the elf file now should i make a file called ehcmodule4.elf and put it in the folder called usb-loader,so it looks like this.
    sd:\usb-loader
    sd:\usb-loader\ehcmodule4.elf
sd:\usb-loader\ehcmodule4.elf with the copied file now called ehcmodule4.elf

USB Loader Ultimate Edition is the menu? How do you get the settings of the game? On the website it states "Use A to play or 1 to enter the options menu of an installed game" which does not work for me. Pressing "B' takes me to a menu where I can change the video, language and ocarina.

"Select GH5 game (press A) and in settings set it to use ios 222-mload, click A again"

You select GH5 and it automatically tries to boot the game up.

Also tried loading it through GX:

"1. Installed the IOS56-64-v5146.wad file first
    2. Launched Hermes cIOS 222 Installer and installed IOS 222 using IOS36 (Default)
    3. Launched Hermes cIOS 222 Installer and installed IOS 223 using IOS37 merged with IOS36
    4. Launched USB Loader GX
    5. Configured GH5 to load using IOS 223 and #002 fix set to Anti. "

But it gave me the black screen and then resets.

I HAVE been able to get it to load through a dvd but I would much rather load it through USB

    UPDATE:
Ended up being the wrong USB Loader version or type, works flawlessly as per his instructions. Thanks

    What works... for me anyway

Just a bit of usefull advice to all... and this works fine.

I softmodded my Wii using the following guide: How to Store/Load Wii Games via USB Hard Drive on System Menu 4.0 [Slick Tricks Part 2]

This works on version 4.0 (my Wii) & 4.1 (my daughter's Wii).

Up until now this mod has allowed me to play downloaded Wii games (in ISO format from various websites: WiiSOS, Piratebay, etc...) without any problem, including Rockband Beatles & Dirt 2.

(Note: admittedly Wii does quite often require to be restarted, ie. unplug & plug back in, when you stop playing a game & then want to play another game from the USB - but I'm happy to live with that )

Guitar Hero is the first game that hasn't started...

If you follow the guide for USB above you'll be fine. If you have trouble finding the forwarder .wad file at step 13, I've posted another link in a previous reply (see higher up).

Follow to the letter... and play on.

A "big up" to all hackers out there who've made these various hacks available - you know who you are!! Keep up the good work, gives me plenty of enjoyful moments!

I've done everything that this guide has instructed. Used Configurable USB Loader - 222 mload, 002 fix on my NTSC version of Guitar Hero 5 and have gotten it to work. HOWEVER, it freezes after each song I complete right when it's supposed to save. While frozen, the Wii's slot light starts blinking, and I have to power down the system to get it working again.

Have I missed a step somewhere? I have a softmodded 4.1U Wii. I'm trying my best not to be a complete dummy, but I feel like I'm SO CLOSE to getting this game working and just need some help.

Thanks in advance. If you can help me fix this, I will reward you.

Last two posts. First try the first part following "Guitar Hero 5 - Run from Disk Guide:".

It may work for you or it may not right away.

If it doesn't, use the one under: "Guitar Hero 5 - Run from Disk Guide: Only for people with SoftMii or Preloader v0.29 with Cioscorp v3.3 Installed"

If you don't have preloader .29 and CIO, get them.

    Works great.
