You're in 3.2E too ? (I think you're right, it must be a HDD issue but then why not everybody is concerned ?)

    Thanks again.
    Brew,

I got it all working with USBLoader GX... Using the PAL image and Hermes 3.0 222 CIOS (this was the all important version for me) I also made sure USBLoader GX used this as the boot CIOS and its all good now, no skipping - yay.

FWIW, I'm on system menu 4.1E.

Now I'm just waiting for the game to be released so I can get at my old WT DLC!

    Phil

Demo777, you need to change the part of your guide about installing Hermes IOS222. The reason it needs to be changed is because the installer has been updated but your guide has not been updated. It seems that the new installer has dropped IOS36 in favor of IOS38.

    It should look like this:

Guitar Hero 5 - Run from USB Loader Guide: You need Wifi Access For This!

GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial: Hermes' Ios222/223

    1 - Download this.
    2 - UnRAR uloader_v2.8D.rar and copy the apps/cios_installer/ directory to sd:/apps/
3 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
4 - Read the warning message and push A
    5 - Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
6 - Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select Use IOS38 merged with IOS37
7 - Wait for download and installation to complete
8 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
9 - This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60
10 - Download Configurable USB Loader
11 - Unzip the Configurable USB Loader .zip file and copy the contents of SDUSB-Loader_cfg41/inSDRoot to sd:/.
12 - If you downloaded a .dol file as well, rename the file boot.dol and replace sd:/apps/USBLoader/boot.dol.
13 - Start the Homebrew Channel and run Configurable USB Loader.
14 - Select GH5 game and in settings set it to use ios 222-mload

Hi guys. Long time lurker first time poster. I'm a bit of a n00b here, so you'll have to bear with me.

I'm trying to get GH5 running off disk. I am running NeoGamma R6, cIOS Rev 14, and have installed the IOS56 WAD, multicIOS and Softchip as per the first post.

(The only thing that isn't quite clear is EXACTLY how to install IOS 37. It says "Currently selected to install custom IOSXX with IOSXX rev7 dip as IOSXX). I understand the first number (XX) should be 37, and the last should be 232, but what should the middle one be? At any rate, i've tried a few different combinations, and I keep getting the following error when I try it in softchip under cIOS 232).

    Exception: loctl error (DI_ReadID)

What can I be doing wrong? Is there any way to get it working directly through NeoGamma?

3 - Find ehcmodule.elf in uloader_v3.0B folder you just extracted, copy and rename it to sd:/usb-loader/ehcmodule4.elf *make the folder and rename
4 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer

18 - Quit wad manager, quit homebrew channel.
19 - Now, in your wii system menu look for USB loader CFG channel, click on it and Start!

PS. USBloaderCFG is really nice... visually better for some points, compared to USBloaderGX.

just thought id let everyone know my experiences

I modded 2 wii's both were on system menu 3.2, i had a wii game and did an official update to 3.4, i tried using usbloader gx r720 with hermes older version of 222/223

the game would load of the hdd but not everytime, sometime 3-5 times to get the game to work

I then downloaded uloader 3.0 with v4 of hermes 222/233 ios's, with that installed gh5 runs fine every time

not sure what the problem is/was but uloader seems a better loader all round in my oppinion

    uloader FTW

I'm fairly new to this whole thing, been reading a long time and finally just registered yesterday because GH5 is driving me nuts trying to get it to work.

    Here's what I've got:

System is 4.0U, currently IOS249. Don't have USB Loader so I've been trying to do it through the disc.

I've followed Demo777's guide to a T, installing the wad through Wad Manager 1.3, using multicios to install IOS 37 as 37 as IOS 232. I also tried doing it as 36/37 and trying others besides 232 such as 248, 223 and 56. No luck. All of these installed correctly, no problems.

Got SoftChip running fine, set the 002 Fix to enabled (also saw on GBATemp that you may need to try doing the Fake IOS thing. Tried it, no luck) but no matter which of these above options I try, I always get the following error in SoftChip:

    loct1 Error (DI_ReadID)

Looking on the SoftChip site, apparently that error comes from using the wrong IOS but damned if I haven't tried just about every one under the sun.

Does anyone have any ideas? Anyone else having this problem? At this point I'm willing to patch the ISO or do whatever I need to in order to get rid of that error.

    Thanks in advance to everyone!
That'll teach me for not reading the whole thread. Exact same scenario with me (although you probly explained it better than I did).

Did you (or anyone) end up getting this sorted?
