Basically, I started almost from scratch, using the files from this thread. Emptied my SD card, copied all of these files onto it and followed the instructions and behold, the game works and plays perfectly!

So for anyone having the same issues as me trying to load from a burned disc:
    - make sure to use DVD-R not DVD+R
    - follow the instruction in the thread link above

And it may just work for you!
I tried this and I didn't get the issue where I get stuck on step 2 but I have the exact same issue that I did to begin with: screen turns green for a second then black screen. Also my wii's disc drive is making the same noise over and over again.

i want to thank everyone for contributing to this thread, it's been helpful. i've followed the guides listed and have had no luck yet with this title. the furthest i did get was a blue screen indicating an error. i'm still running neogamma 3 because it seems to play all of my pre-July games perfectly and was wondering if there is any way I can get this game running with that app. I've experimented with so many different wads and cioss... cioses... cios's... multiple cios thingies... and don't seem to get much working past releases like ghostbusters. i have tried later versions of neogamma but they fail to run the newer titles for me and the older ones which worked well before did not load. is there a mostly-compatible cios that i should be using? many thanks!

Just a thought (it's early am here), but have you got cios rev13 installed?

I used 13a a while ago as I had no luck with 13b, if you need either follow the links below and install as normal.

    cIOS38 Rev13a download here

    cIOS38 Rev13b download here

    cIOS38 Rev14 download here

The other thing I can think of is do a fresh burn on 1x on a DVD-R as you may have a bad burn? It's worth a go!

If you get any luck click the thanks button, but more importantly let us all know how you get on.

I managed to get GH5 working on my 3.3Ev2 Wii:
-Installed the IOS56-64-v5146 wad though WAD Manager 1.5
-Skipped "Download and run multicios, and install IOS 37 as IOS 232."
-Booted Softchip, set the 002 fix (didn't try without), used the IOS56
(Don't believe I changed any other settings)
    -Ran game, worked fine.

Installed the new version like Stomp_442 said, worked very well except I had to use uLoader instead of USBLoader. USBLoader hanged up when I tried running the game with midified 222.

Yes, Sunshine too I'll check another rip but i'm not sure that is the source of our problem.

ANYWAY : we (everybody who is concerned by this issue) must keep contact and we will find (I hope) a fix together.

    Reminder :

Problem : Strange repeat (like a scratched audio CD) on some songs, randomly.

Wii : (Softmod 3.2, Sunshine release of GH5, USB Loader GX)

    Thanks guys !
    Hi Brew,

I have the same problem when loading from USB (USBLoaderGX) using cIOS222 (36 with 37).
However the same image works fine from disk using my wiikey. So I guess its either a HDD issue (this skip happened in some older Guitar hero's too) or a cIOS issue. It's a pain because its much easier to run from HDD

I'm just about to try the PAL image instead of the "sunshine NTCS one".

EDIT: PAL image I found today had the same symptoms. Random skips (music freezes but game does not) running from USB Loader GX but fine from disc (WiiKey hard mod).

Now I'm just waiting for the music store to work (I guess when its released) so I can import all my WT tracks

    Thanks

    Cheers!

The disk guide worked perfectly, on my 4.1u Wii.

I did NOT need to install ios56, and when using multicios, install ios 37 with ios 37 rev, on 232, and not anything else.

    Thanks, works great.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and to post those links. I do have rev13b going but am hesitant about trying 14. i have tried it once before and ran into the same issue where nothing older would run. is there a certain version of neogamma that works best with 14? Again, thank you. I really do appreciate it.
