I tried to make sure I installed cios56, but I do not know how I can see this. Thus I
put IOS56-64-v5146.wad on SD in WAD and tried installing it with WAD Manager 1.4. WAD Man. returns error -1035. Googled to find what this means: found only 2 options: downgrade your IOS from 3.x to 3.y (no way, since I am running softpatched 4.2E and everything but GH5 runs fine) or SD error (not the case).
    I am lost here.

Followed your VID, changes IOS to 249, changed same setting to enabled. Softchip states IOs 56 loaded succesfully. Game boots, green screen ...-> Black screen. Wii remote blinks as in "game doesn't work".

    Softchip version = R99
    IOS 249 = REV 14
IOS 56 is installed. Actually IOS56-64-v5146 is installed and Softchip reports loading ios 56 success, then boot game. Then screen turns green for a moment and then back. Wii remote lights blick and go dead.
I checked GH5 version with Brickblocker info, its PAL.
Tried Neogamma R8 beta 3 both with GH5 on disk. Same result except for Wii remote: first light keeps lit.
Maybe this info is usefull; all other games I tried so for (a lot recent games) work, but I all run them from USBloader. This is the first game that didn't run from USB-HD so I burned it. Tried to run some other games from DVD: no prob.

ok then you have to make sure you also patched it with brickblocker.
because it can also return a blackscreen when there is still a new update on the game when you press update at brickblocker it will remove it
then do you use a dvd+r or dvd-r dvd -r shoud work directly
when you use dvd+r you have to make sure the book type is set on DVD-ROM
thats easy to do with a programm like imgBURN

Did so. Patched it with brickblocker. Burn it with imgburn at slowest possible speed on dvd-r Verbatim. Same result. Softchip states ... game needs ios 56 ... . Ios 56 loaded succesfully. Green screen for 1/2 sec, black screen.
    Any other idears?

Adders, if I understand your readme.rtf part of the trick is basically to replace rev14 by rev7.
As a newbie I do not feel very comfortable with this since I am pretty sure I need rev 14, last time I messed up my Wii doing this.
Also when I started following your manual I got an error -1035 installing IOS56. However Softchip states I load IOS56 succesfully and remember installed it a while back. (IOS56-64-v5146.wad)
Hope there is another solution with not downgrading to rev7. It not, will proceed with your manual, ignoring the IOS56 error sounds ok to you?

Really would like to run this game on softmod 4.2E wii but:

    3) Run multiCIOS and make sure you install ISO37 as ISO232. Once its
installed, reset your Wii by pressing home on the wiimote

multiCIOS starts, but reports patching done, but return with error -1 (just after adding title).
I double double checked following your install.txt.

    Any help apprec.
The only thing needed to run GH5 from a USB Loader (that's what this thread is about), is to install IOS222 from Hermes cIOS installer v4. No soft chip or IOS56. Make sure to install IOS222 as IOS38 merged with IOS37. Set the loader to load the game with IOS222.
