I tried different speeds with dvd-r: nero and IMGburn but succeed only with dvd+rw, 4x and nero. No errors at all with that disc. Old and new backups are working. Im not saying it is an answer to all your problems but I think it's worth trying if you have "can't read disc bla bla bla" error

Alright, I'll try that out.
Also, I realized I downloaded the WiiZard version of SMG, which I PAL I believe?
And I also realized I flashed my drive using bootdisc.us (since I'm from USA and use NTSC).
Is that what the problem is?

Does the game run for a little while before the error comes? Even for few seconds?

Nope. Just sounds like it's booting it up, then it gives me that error.

I had the same deal, downloaded the PAL version - went to run it on my NTSC Wii and had that error - just need to turn on Region Override using 1.2

I just downloaded the NTSC version and burned it at 4x. Works fine now.
And for future reference, how do I enable Other regions?

I assume you have Wiikey - and have 1.9g installed for flash, now you just need to use the following disc to turn on Region:
[Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
Just make sure you have a Gamecube controller - its just a setup menu, turn ON Region Free, save it, you should be set...

Alright, thanks.
And I've heard that you should run Wiibrickblocker before playing out of region games, so that your Wii does not get bricked.
Is this true?

Ok, and you're running the PAL version of SMG or the NTSC version?
