The Wiikey updates are not done straight to the Wii, you need to download the update to your PC and burn it to a DVD like you do the ISO's for the games

So I updated my Wii and downloaded Super Mario Galaxy, but for some reason the game won't run on my Wii. It keeps saying "Unable to read the disc." I know it's not the disc because I'm using Verbatim, and the rest of my games work fine, but not this one.

Has anyone encountered this, or know how to fix it?

P.S - It doesn't have an option to update like MP3 did.

u will find that after the wiikey 1.9G update.......that the wii has become quite particular about....burn speeds, media type , brands of media,,,

so to overcome the disc read errors I started to burn at 2X with dvd-r.... verbatims..ok.. TY's even better

some of the memorex's and maxcels that worked well at higher burn speeds have intermitten read errors now

hope that helps.

I had the "unable to read" problem with SMG like lot of people. I tried burning again, with different speeds and discs, updating again. I tried everything. Then I came with idea to try dvd+rw that I had lying around. I used TDK dvd+rw disc and it worked smoothly. It doesn't make sense but I think it is at least worth a try.

I tried burning it at 1x this time, only to no avail.

I'm using IMGburn, if that helps.
