    Controller Help for Donkey Kong

I am new to the Wii and have had no success in hacking it except getting the HomeBrew Channel on it so I just gave up on that. I paid for and installed the internet channel and love it also. I went to the Wii shop store and downloaded Donkey Kong. I am just wondering if I need a special control to play the game as I could not get my Wii remote to work. Thanks for any assistance you may have for me. Paul

Not really a question we normally see on Wiihacks....what to do with a legitimately purchased game.

Anyway you'll probably find that the game requires the Classic Controller add on that plugs into the Wiimote. You can also use a Gamecube controller.

Thanks so much for the quick answer, I really hate to pay for games but I just had no luck in getting my Wii hacked following the guide instructions except for getting the HomeBrew Channel on it. I just got frustrated and gave up. Thanks, Paul

That's surprising as it's generally not such a big problem these days.

What part did you get stuck at?

As I see it a nice softmod looks like this.
    • Bannerbomb - HBC
    • cIOS through TBR
    • cIOS 38 Rev 14
    • USB Loader GX

    Happy, happy , happy.

LU65 can't be downgraded beyond 3.4. So don't do it. You can do most things on 4.1 that the guys on 3.2 can do.

So you need to put LU64 fix in the mix between Bannerbomb and TBR.

I am scuh a NOOB! Since I already have the HBC installed I need to go straight to the LU64 fix as follows, correct?:

If you have an LU64+ or Wii from another region that can't be softmodded then here's the fix you have been waiting for.

IMPORTANT: NEVER DOWNGRADE YOUR LU64 WII!! IT WILL BRICK!! DO NOT USE CIOSCORP OR IT WILL BRICK!!

    1) Copy contents of LU64fix.rar to SD card.

    2) Install IOS16 with Wad Manager

    3) Run Custom Wad Manager and use this to install LU64.wad

    4) Restart the Wii

    5) Run LU64CIOS and select 'Network Install' only. Wad install DOES NOT WORK!

    6) Restart Wii

    7) Done! You are now free to install DVD/USB backup loaders, NOT CIOSCORP!! and you can update to 4 if you like but NEVER DOWNGRADE!!

DO NOT INSTALL ANY OTHER CIOS AT THIS TIME! YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE R11 WHEN IT IS READY AND CONFIRMED SAFE

After doing this I perferom the TBR part of the hack? Sorry for being so stupid on all this.

Hmm sorry. A little bit of mis information there.

Not very up to date on LU64 issues.

At the top of the tutorial for LU64 Dogeggs has directed you to the easy way to get cIOS tutorial http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-any-wii.html

I don't suppose it matters ultimately, LU64 fix wouldn't damage the Wii.

Just remember do not downgrade your Wii System Menu, you can have everything you need working on 4.0.

So after I perform the lu64 fix, I then will go and do the hack guide at the top of this thread, is that correct?

Just do the Easy way to get cIOS tutorial linked in my last post. Forget LU64 fix, it's outdated.

You need this cIOS so you can continue your softmod.
