Wii HD
Finally got an HD cable for my Wii and set it to 480p... terribly anticlimactic. Is there a firware upgrade or does it just always look like ass on a 1080p HDTV? From what I read it is like this for everyone... but I thought I remembered the store models not looking so bad. Then again, they are all just playing a video type thing on them. Anyway, anyone else have any problems like this? let me know!

Yeah I guess... It is so damn distracting though, I think I will just play it on my regular tube tv (cry T_T). Happy I was able to get the cable for $10.00 instead of $50.00... what a rip!

heard rumors, or rather read them online, of an HD capable Wii (assuming this means more than 480p, which is really not hd at all). Anyone heard this or know if it is anything more than just a rumor to piss me off? :P

This is old news but, you can actually make a wii output in 1080p as shown in this picture.

I don't know how to, but i do know there are sites that can tell you how to do it.

the games have to support 1080p, which they do not, therefor there is no possible way to play a 1080p game on the wii. Maybe you get a 1080- output, but the game is still sending a maximum 480 resolution...

Upscaling btw is not true 1080p.... looks better than without upscaling, but still not 1080p.... the picture is on a bravia upscaled using a receiver....
