I have my Wii softmodded, I'm using a 2TB (1.81 TB actually) HDD on my wii and my backups work fine using Wii Backup Manager. I just want to know if I can put Virtual Console games onto it and WiiWare also, I'm getting mixed answers, and if it is possible can someone point me to an up to date guide? Thanks, Kevin.

Now if you want to play your Wiiware/VC off the hard drive, you'll have to use NAND emulation with a homebrew app that supports playing of those games. I suggest Mighty Channels. It's the easiest to set up, and if you don't like it you can search into other alternatives like Wiiflow or SNEEK.
The only downside to this is that some WiiWare games don't work. However, with future updates to the cIOS, it is possible that 100% of them will work.
But, all VC games work.
TheInfamousTheft, I was not aware of this method of playing wiiware games.
Have you heard of using the wad files? Because it's a common method of installing wiiware and VC games (channels) to your home screen.
To use wad files:
1. Make sure that you own the game first. If not, you are doing something illegal and are on your own.
2. Download the game's .wad file (google can help here :) )
3. Use a wad installer such as multi mod manager to install the wad files.
4. Your game is now installed! Start it by selecting it's channel in the wii menu.
Ideally, this is the way to do it if you don't have many WiiWare/VC games. However, once you start running out of space on your Wii's internal storage (or channel room) it starts being a pain in the ass. Of course, you have another option.Quote:
