Can't boot from lacie hard drive on wii

Hi friend of mine bought a Lacie 301304u 1tb hard drive, and wanted me to mod their wii so they could play their backups. I have already done mine and works fine from hard drive.
i formated her hard drive to fat32 and put some game on it to make sure would work.
plugged it into my wii and usb cfg loader worked no problem booting from a sd card i have.
so copied sd card over to root of her hard drive and went to load usb loader and just boots back to main screen.
went to homebrew channel and won't show any apps on hard drive but shows the ones on the sd card when plug in and change to show sd in homebrew,
i even copied the root of my hard drive over as i know i can boot of that. but same problem just goes back to main menu
i checked the hard drive partition and set it to active as was not. but still have no luck

Any one have any ideas why this won't allow me to boot from this hard drive??

Generate syscheck from both wiis and compare. You can get syscheck from modmii, ect.

Have you tried setting as primary & active, Did you check whether there are manufacturers sleep mode settings still installed. Are you removing SD card before turning wii power on. If you have both drives set up the same. Make sure you have copied all the apps, etc as various updates of usb loaders run on various IOS as default, Check the config files. And as our other friend stated compare both system checks, logic tells us that if all things are the same they should interchange. Maybe try a smaller partition for the wii side of things I know my Iomega 500gb takes a few seconds longer the a 120gb to read and load,

yes did set as primary and active but didn't do anything. and my hard drive works on both wii's with no problem. but when plug lacie in to either it will not boot from hard drive will only work if using sd. copied sd acrd to root of lacie but didn't work. and even copied my hard drive over to the lacie but it still won't work from it.
